Neutropenia is a common adverse reaction of chemotherapy. We assessed whether chemotherapy-induced neutropenia could be predictor survival for patients with non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). A total 387 chemotherapy-naïve who received chemotherapy (vinorelbine and gemcitabine followed by docetaxel, or paclitaxel carboplatin) in randomised controlled trial were evaluated. The proportional-hazards regression model was used to examine the effects tumour response on overall survival. Landmark...

A detailed retrospective analysis of the efficacy intraoperative radiotherapy (IOR) in advanced carcinoma pancreas is presented. During a 10-year period from 1973 through 1982, 70 patients with were treated by multimodal methods, separate or combined therapy surgery, IOR, and chemotherapy two different institutions. Among these, 33 underwent mostly additive surgery. single dose 20.1 to 40.0 Gy 8 25 meV electrons was delivered radiation cones ranging 6 10 cm diameter. Excellent relief noticed...

Three‐dimensional (3D) carbon fiber reinforced SiC and Si 3 N 4 composites have been fabricated using repeated infiltration of an organosilicon slurry under vacuum pressure. Open porosity the infiltrated body was reduced from 40% after first to approximately 8% seventh cycle. Further reduction open less than 3% accomplished by hot‐press densification. The maximum values flexural strength fracture toughness were, respectively, 260 MPa 7.3 MPa·m 1/2 for C/Si composites, 185 6 C/SiC composite.

An additive effect on the pressureless sintering of boron carbide is investigated. Some species, Al, TiB2, and AlF3 show a remarkable densification upon B4C. The Al-addition provides best sintered body with highest bulk density 95% by means firing condition 2200°C for 30min under Argon flow. addition SiC prevents process. species except tend to restrain grain growth pore growth, acting probably as an inhibitor surface matter transport.

Abstract BACKGROUND: Even after early detection and curative resection of stage non–small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), a significant fraction patients develop recurrent disease. Molecular biomarkers that can predict the risk recurrence thus need to be identified improve clinical outcomes. METHODS: Using methylation‐specific polymerase chain reaction assay, promoter methylation breast susceptibility gene 1 ( BRCA1 ) was assessed in tissues from 70 with curatively resected I NSCLC. The relevance...
