The authors compared the effectiveness of Seeking Safety group, cognitive-behavioral treatment for substance use disorder and posttraumatic stress (PTSD), to an active comparison health education group (Women's Health Education [WHE]) within National Institute on Drug Abuse's Clinical Trials Network. randomized 353 women receive 12 sessions (M = 6.2 sessions) or WHE 6.0 with follow-up assessment 1 week 3, 6, months posttreatment. Primary outcomes were Clinician Administered PTSD Scale...

Therapeutic antibody development requires selection and engineering of molecules with high affinity other drug-like biophysical properties. Co-optimization multiple properties remains a difficult time-consuming process that impedes drug development. Here we evaluate the use machine learning to simplify co-optimization for clinical-stage (emibetuzumab) displays levels both on-target (antigen) off-target (non-specific) binding. We mutate sites in complementarity-determining regions, sort...

Nanotechnology patent applications published during 1991–2008 have been examined using the "title–abstract" keyword search on esp@cenet "worldwide" database. The longitudinal evolution of number applications, their topics, and respective families evaluated for 15 national offices covering 98% total global activity. United States (USA), People's Republic China (PRC), Japan, South Korea largest nanotechnology experienced significant but different growth rates after 2000. In most repositories,...

Acetaldehyde dehydrogenase 2 (ALDH2) is a mitochondrial enzyme detoxifying acetaldehyde and endogenous lipid aldehydes; previous studies suggest protective role of ALDH2 against cardiovascular disease (CVD). Around 40% East Asians carrying the single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) rs671 have an increased incidence CVD. However, in CVD beyond alcohol consumption remains poorly defined. Here we report that ALDH2/LDLR double knockout (DKO) mice decreased atherosclerosis compared with LDLR-KO...

Abstract Specificity is one of the most important and complex properties that central to both natural antibody function therapeutic efficacy. However, it has proven extremely challenging define robust guidelines for predicting specificity. Here we evaluated physicochemical determinants specificity multiple panels antibodies, including >100 clinical-stage antibodies. Surprisingly, find theoretical net charge complementarity-determining regions (CDRs) a strong predictor Antibodies with...

Bio-based isobutanol has attracted more and attention due to its wide application excellent fuel performance. Compared with ethanol, higher energy density, lower oxygen content, hygroscopicity, making it an ideal gasoline additive or substitute. been commercially produced from a variety of renewable feedstock, including corn, wheat, sorghum, barley, sugar cane by using yeast biocatalyst. The existing facility ethanol plants is acquired separate purify the fermentation broth, meaning that...

The accuracy of noninvasive continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) through near-infrared scattering is challenged by mixed signals from different compartments, where has a positive correlation with blood coefficient but negative tissue coefficient. In this study, we developed high-accuracy CGM based on OCT angiography (OCTA)-purified signals. optical (BOC) was initially extracted the depth attenuation backscattered light in and then purified eliminating surrounding tissues under guidance 3D...

Global climate change has a significant impact on fish survival and the aquaculture industry. Even highly adaptable organisms like Siluriformes are susceptible to these effects. This study investigates consequences of extreme high temperature Hong Kong catfish (Clarias fuscus), species known for its long-term habitation in tropical subtropical regions. In this study, C. fuscus were cultivated 90 days at (HT, 34 °C) normal (NT, 26 °C), followed by subjecting two groups stress (34 recovery (26...

The dietary supplementation of Haematococcus pluvialis is a natural, safe, and sustainable method for fish pigmentation. However, astaxanthin-rich H. cysts have poor effect in pigmenting salmonid flesh due to their rigid thick cell wall. thin-walled motile cells recently attracted attention potential advantages maintaining compound stability, easy digestion, enhancing the bioavailability carotenoids, reducing production costs. The widespread interest in antibody therapeutics has led to much focus on identifying candidates with favorable developability properties. In particular, there is broad highly repulsive self-interactions standard formulations (e.g., low ionic strength buffers at pH 5–6) for high solubility and viscosity.
