MicroRNA (miRNA) maturation is critically dependent on structural features of primary transcripts (pri-miRNAs). However, the scarcity determined pri-miRNA structures has limited our understanding miRNA maturation. Here, we employed selective 2′-hydroxyl acylation analyzed by primer extension and mutational profiling (SHAPE-MaP), a high-throughput RNA structure probing method, to unravel secondary 476 high-confidence human pri-miRNAs. Our SHAPE-based diverge substantially from those inferred...
Control of the size and shape molecular assemblies on nanometer scale in aqueous solutions is very important for regulation biological functions. Among well-defined supramolecular structures organic amphiphiles, one-dimensional nanofibers have attracted much attention because their potential applications biocompatible materials. Although progress has been made field self-assembled nanofibers, ability to control fiber length remains limited. The approach presented herein overcomes this...
We demonstrate the self-assembly of tripeptide amphiphiles into spherical hollow capsules from linear nanoribbons via control molecular packing. achieved a transition arrangement anisotropic to isotropic by an elaborate design architecture.
Abstract β‐Barrel proteins that take the shape of a ring are common in many types water‐soluble enzymes and water‐insoluble transmembrane pore‐forming proteins. Since β‐barrel perform diverse functions cell, it would be great step towards developing artificial if we can control polarity at will. Here, describe rational approach to construct protein mimics from self‐assembly peptide‐based building blocks. With this approach, direction process toward formation nanorings or pores could...
Small peptides carrying laterally-grafted azobenzene units self-assemble into photo-responsive hydrogels which are applied as a smart matrix for controlling the dye molecules release. We demonstrate that delicate balance among interactions plays pivotal role in gel–sol transition.
Abstract Graphene, a nanomaterial made of sp 2 hybridized carbon atoms, has recently been investigated as novel surface treatment for promoting osseointegration. This study aims to evaluate the biological effects graphene oxide (GO) on turned and sandblasted, large‐grit, acid‐etched (SLA) titanium surfaces. In vitro, bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) human gingival fibroblasts (HGFs) are seeded onto discs, whose surfaces have treated in four different ways (SLA and/or GO), observe its...
We report a simple, direct fluorometric assay based on graphene oxide (GO) for RNA polymerase-mediated synthesis. In principle, fluorescent peptide nucleic acid (PNA) probes were designed, and annealed with products the resultant RNA-PNA hybrids induced recovery of fluorescence intensity PNA adsorbed onto GO surface.
Abstract MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are important regulatory RNAs that control gene expression in various biological processes. Therefore, over the disease-related miRNA is both for basic research and a new class of therapeutic modality to treat serious diseases such as cancer. Here, we present high-throughput screening strategy identify small molecules modulate living cells. The screen enables simultaneous monitoring phenotypic cellular changes associated with by measuring quantitative fluorescent...
Abstract Artificial, synthetic chaperones have attracted much attention in biomedical research due to their ability control the folding of proteins and peptides. Here, we report bio-inspired multifunctional porous nanoparticles modulate proper intracellular delivery therapeutic α-helical peptide. The S ynthetic N ano- C haperone for P eptide (SNCP) based on provides an internal hydrophobic environment which contributes stabilizing secondary structure encapsulated peptides environments. In...
We present a new platform for multiplexed protein kinase activity assay using TiO2 decorated graphene oxide (GO), which is applicable to high throughput inhibitor screening. On the basis of strong affinity phosphate group and fluorescence quenching capability GO, phosphorylation substrates by kinases was quantitatively measured in short time.
In March 2020, the average concentration of PM2.5 in Seoul decreased by 44% compared to that 2019 (from 45 µg m–3 25 m–3). this study, synoptic and local meteorological conditions during period with reduced concentrations were analyzed. The 2020 show a common characteristic strong zonal flow winds. Therefore, air circulation was active unfavorable long-range transboundary transport. Local such as wind turbulent motion at surface sensitive concentrations. Our analyses indicate greatly mainly...
Abstract In this study, we investigate the meteorological characteristics and effect of local emissions during high PM 10 concentrations in Seoul Metropolitan Area (SMA) by utilizing data from a high-resolution urban observation system network (UMS-Seoul) The Air Pollution Model (TAPM). For detailed analysis, days with higher than 80 μg m −3 for daily average concentration (classified as unhealthy Korean Ministry Environment) were classified into 3 Cases. Case I was defined when prevailing...
In this work, we report the spontaneous formation of 2-dimensional (2D) grid structures through charge transfer interactions pyrene amphiphiles. Pure amphiphiles self-assemble into long nanofibers in aqueous solution. Remarkably, these transform a 2D structure upon complexation. The interaction induces crystallization aromatic core part, leading to discrete micelles with up and down hydrophilic chains, hydrophobic side faces. Eventually, anisotropic grow way side-by-side form unusual structures.

Efficiency characteristics of green phosphorescent organic light-emitting devices (PHOLEDs) with different host materials and device structures were investigated by examining the luminance efficiency-current density curves electroluminescence spectra. The efficiency PHOLEDs at low current as well high was greatly affected energy levels carrier transport properties hole/electron transporting materials. exhibited initial when hole-electron recombination confined in emitting layer (EML). roll...
Increase of the greenhouse gases emissions during last century has led remarkable changes in our environment and climate system. Continuous monitoring atmospheric constituents over world is positively necessary to understand these around us. The concentrations (<TEX>$CO_2,\;CH_4,\;N_2O,\;CFCs$</TEX>) have been continuously measured at Global Climate Change Monitoring station Gosan, Jeju since January, 2002. In this study, variation characteristics as well their annual, seasonal diurnal trend...
Abstract To develop effective emission abatement strategies for eighteen coal-fired power plants located throughout Korea, plant data and TAPM(The Air Pollution Model) were used to quantify the impact of reductions on primary PM 10 concentrations. TAPM was validated two separate time periods: a high concentration period from April 7 12, 2016, low June 1 6 2016. The model then analyze impacts five applicable shut-down scenarios. results showed that four within Seoul metropolitan area (SMA)...
