Background: The rapidly increasing dissemination of carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE) in both humans and animals poses a global threat to public health. However, the transmission CRE between has not yet been well studied. Objectives: We investigated prevalence, risk factors, drivers their backyard rural China. Methods: conducted comprehensive sampling strategy 12 villages Shandong, Using household [residents (farm companion animals)] as single surveillance unit, we assessed...

We report on the coexistence of mcr-1 and blaCTX-M in multidrug-resistant, extended-spectrum β-lactamase-producing Escherichia coli belonging to sequence type 10 complex isolated from well water rural China. Raoultella ornithinolytica with blaKPC-2 was also detected same area. This study shows that genes coding for resistance last-resort antibiotics are present wells China, indicating a potential source antibiotic resistance.

A case of septicemia with meningitis due to non-O1/non-O139 Vibrio cholerae in a neonate is reported. The genotype and phenotype the isolate were examined relation major virulence genes. was shown be non-toxin but cytotoxin-producing, distinguished from dominant clone non-O1/non-O139V. by multilocus sequence typing.

To investigate the presence and molecular characteristics of oxazolidinone resistance genes cfr optrA in staphylococci from household animals rural China.Various samples were collected 12 villages. Staphylococcal isolates showing florfenicol MICs ≥10 mg/L identified screened for and/or optrA. PCR-positive characterized by antimicrobial susceptibility testing, S1 nuclease PFGE Southern blotting. WGS data analysed to identify core-genome phylogenetic profile each isolate as well genetic...

Introduction To effectively minimise the emergence and dissemination of antibiotic resistant bacteria, a holistic One Health approach is called for. The Sino-Swedish Integrated Multisectoral Partnership for Antibiotic Resistance Containment cross-sectoral integrated project on resistance, conducted in Shandong Province China. This paper outlines overall study protocol project. our knowledge, this first research programme aiming to take true across multiple sectors simultaneously China,...

Antibiotic resistance is a complex global health challenge. The recent Global Action Plan on antimicrobial highlights the importance of adopting One Health approaches that can cross traditional disciplinary boundaries. We report early experiences multisectoral Sino-Swedish research project aims to address gaps in our current knowledge and seeks improve situation through system-wide interventions. A delay in the first dose of measles-containing vaccine (MCV1) may contribute to outbreaks measles, resulting a high age-specific incidence infants<1 y age. To determine factors associated with delayed MCV1 vaccinations, we used data from China Information Management System for Immunization Programming. Additionally, parents/guardians 430 children whose vaccinations were delayed, as well 424 who received timely surveyed by telephone. Children less likely receive if they belonged an immigrant...

The global increase in carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE) is a growing health concern. Infections caused by CRE are associated with increased mortality and length of hospital stay, emphasising the economic burden posed these pathogens. Although can inhabit human gut asymptomatically, colonisation an risk infection mortality. In this study, we investigated occurrence characteristics faecal samples from healthy persons 12 villages Shandong Province, China.Screening for was performed...

The cyclic AMP receptor protein (CRP) regulates genes involved in carbon source metabolism, iron uptake, and virulence bacteria. Identifying the sources utilized by bacteria that are regulated CRP will help elucidate regulation cascade associated responses to environmental stimuli. CRP-dependent of metabolism Vibrio cholerae is not thoroughly understood. To identify candidate V. affected CRP, we used high-throughput screening compare metabolic differences between wild-type mutant strains O1...
