Superhydrophobic surfaces can entrap gas pockets within their grooves when submerged in water. Such a mixed-phase boundary is shown to result an effective slip velocity on the surface, and has promising potential for drag reduction energy-saving hydrodynamic applications. The target flow regime, most such applications, turbulent flow. Previous analyses of this problem involved direct numerical simulations turbulence with superhydrophobic surface modelled as flat boundary, but heterogeneous...

Superhydrophobic surfaces can significantly reduce hydrodynamic skin drag by accommodating large slip velocity near the surface due to entrapment of air bubbles within their micro-scale roughness elements. While there are many Stokes flow solutions for flows superhydrophobic that describe relation between effective length and geometry, such relations not fully known in turbulent limit. In this work, we present a phenomenological model kinematics with periodic post-patterns at high Reynolds...

Superhydrophobic surfaces can retain gas pockets within their microscale textures when submerged in water. This property reduces direct contact between water and solid presents opportunities for improving hydrodynamic performance by decreasing viscous drag. In most realistic applications, however, the flow regime is turbulent retaining a challenge. order to overcome this challenge, it crucial develop an understanding of physical mechanisms that lead failure superhydrophobic overlying liquid...

Percutaneous medical devices are preferred for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases due to their minimal intervention compared surgery. However, complications such as thrombosis remain significant challenges. This study aims investigate hemodynamic effects slip surfaces on pacemaker leads and coronary stents using computational fluid dynamics under physiological conditions. Two models were developed: a venous anatomical model with lead artery stent. Slip boundary conditions applied these...
