Introduction The longstanding, chronic under-representation of girls/ women and non-binary youth in engineering computing remains a global concern. Informal STEM learning contexts, such as makerspaces, have the potential flexibility to engage all young people with creative, engaging equitable ways. Yet date, this largely un-realized, many makerspaces remaining ‘chilly’, male-dominated spaces (materially, spatially, relationally socially). This paper seeks contribute understanding challenges...

Endothelial adherens junction proteins constitute an important element in the control of microvascular permeability. Platelet-activating factor (PAF) increases permeability to macromolecules via translocation endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) cytosol and stimulation eNOS-derived signaling cascade. The mechanisms by which regulates at junctions are still incompletely understood. We explored hypothesis that PAF stimulates hyperpermeability S-nitrosation (SNO) proteins. We measured...

To assess the hypothesis that gap junctions (GJs) participate on leukocyte-endothelium interactions in inflammatory response, we compared leukocyte adhesion and transmigration elicited by cytokine stimulation presence or absence of GJ blockers hamster cheek pouch also cremaster muscle wild-type (WT) endothelium-specific connexin 43 (Cx43) null mice (Cx43e(-/-)). In pouch, topical tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha; 150 ng/ml, 15 min) caused a sustained increment number leukocytes adhered...

Kinetic analysis has been performed on TG and DTG diagrams of the forward reaction MnCO3⇌ MnO + CO2, recorded at different pressures CO2 ranging form 2.6. 10−4 Pa to 26.6 kPa. The results obtained show that this follows a first-order kinetic law, independently pressure used in carrying out experiments. On other hand, activation energy increases increase pressure, from 117 kJ/mol up an asymptotic value 292 about Pa. This finding cannot be explained by considering influence reverse formation...

It is found that discoveries were mainly traditional competitive advantage, with various degrees technology adoption. The following policy implications are derived: i) innovative mechanisms to share new...
