橋脚の局所洗掘に関する対策工としては,河床洗掘の防御のための保護工または強い下降流を伴う馬蹄形渦の制御が挙げられる.本研究では,環境負荷の小さい後者に着目し橋脚の直上流に群杭を設置して橋脚周りの馬蹄形渦および橋脚前面の下降流を抑制して橋脚の洗掘を低減させることを目的とした.実験結果から群杭を用いた導流工を設置した場合,無対策に較べて橋脚周りの最大洗掘深が約40%,洗掘孔の体積は約6%にまで抑制され,橋脚と導流工先端部の局所洗掘は,橋脚径の約4倍以上の流軸方向の長さであれば独立した形態をしめすことを明らかにした.
