The VST Photometric Halpha Survey of the Southern Galactic Plane and Bulge (VPHAS+) is surveying southern Milky Way in u, g, r, i at 1 arcsec angular resolution. Its footprint spans latitude range -5 < b +5 all longitudes south celestial equator. Extensions around Centre to latitudes +/-10 bring much Bulge. This ESO public survey, begun on 28th December 2011, reaches down 20th magnitude (10-sigma) will provide single-epoch digital optical photometry for 300 million stars. observing strategy...
The INT/WFC Photometric H-Alpha Survey of the Northern Galactic Plane (IPHAS) is a 1800 square degrees imaging survey covering latitudes |b| < 5 deg and longitudes l = 30 to 215 in r, i H-alpha filters using Wide Field Camera (WFC) on 2.5-metre Isaac Newton Telescope (INT) La Palma. We present first quality-controlled globally-calibrated source catalogue derived from survey, providing single-epoch photometry for 219 million unique sources across 92% footprint. observations were carried out...
The Optical Monitoring Camera (OMC) will observe the optical emission from prime targets of gamma-ray instruments onboard ESA mission INTEGRAL, with support JEM-X monitor in X-ray domain. This capability provide invaluable diagnostic information on nature and physics sources over a broad wavelength range. Its main scientific objectives are: (1) to observed by gamma- instruments, measuring time intensity structure for comparison variability at high energies, (2) brightness position...
Context. Be stars undergo outbursts producing a circumstellar disk from the ejected material. The beating of non-radial pulsations has been put forward as possible mechanism ejection.Aims. We analyze pulsational behavior early B0.5IVe star HD 49330 observed during first CoRoT long run towards Galactical anticenter (LRA1). This Be is located close to lower edge β Cephei instability strip in HR diagram and showed 0.03 mag outburst observations. It thus an ideal case for...
Abstract— Relative chemical abundances of 13 meteoroids were determined by averaging the composition radiating gas along fireball path that originated during their penetration into Earth's atmosphere. Mg, Fe, Ni, Cr, Mn, and Co abundances, relative to Si, are similar those reported for CI CM carbonaceous chondrites interplanetary dust particles. In contrast, Ca Ti in meteor spectra indicate these elements suffer incomplete evaporation processes. The all studied this work differs from 1P/Halley dust.
The INT/WFC Photometric Hα Survey of the Northern Galactic Plane (IPHAS) is an imaging survey being carried out in Hα, r′ and i′ filters, with Wide Field Camera (WFC) on 2.5-m Isaac Newton Telescope (INT) to a depth r′= 20 (10σ). aimed at revealing large scale organization Milky Way can be applied identifying range stellar populations within it. Mapping emission line objects enables particular focus young old stages evolution ranging from early T-Tauri stars late planetary nebulae. In this...
Context. Be stars are rapidly rotating with a circumstellar decretion disk. They usually undergo pressure and/or gravity pulsation modes excited by the κ-mechanism, i.e. an effect of opacity iron-peak elements in envelope star. In Milky Way, p-modes observed that hotter than or equal to B3 spectral type, while g-modes at B2 type and cooler.
We present multi-wavelength long-term monitoring observations of V635 Cas, the optical counterpart to transient X-ray pulsar 4U 0115+63. The evolution emission lines and photometric magnitudes indicates that Be star undergoes relatively fast (~) quasi-cyclic activity, losing reforming its circumstellar disc. show general optical, infrared behaviour can be explained by dynamical viscous disc around star. After each disc-loss episode, starts grows until it reaches radius at which resonant...
Context. The International Gamma-Ray Astrophyiscs Laboratory (INTEGRAL) is discovering a large number of new hard X-ray sources, many them being HMXBs. identification and spectral characterization their optical/infrared counterparts necessary step to undertake detailed study these systems. In particular, the determination type crucial in case class Supergiant Fast Transients (SFXTs), which show properties common other objects.
This paper checks on the roles of metallicity and evolutionary age in appearance so-called Be phenomenon. Slitless CCD spectra were obtained covering bulk Small Magellanic Cloud. For Halpha line emission twice as strong ambient continuum, survey is complete to spectral type B2/B3 main sequence. About 8120 4437 stars searched for lines 84 open clusters. 370 emission-line found, among them at least 231 near 176 them, photometry could be found OGLE database. comparison with a higher-metallicity...
The INT Galactic Plane Survey (IGAPS) is the merger of optical photometric surveys, IPHAS and UVEX, based on data from Isaac Newton Telescope (INT) obtained between 2003 2018. Here, we present IGAPS point source catalogue. It contains 295.4 million rows providing photometry in filters, i, r, narrow-band Halpha, g U_RGO. footprint fills coordinate range, |b| < 5deg 30deg l 215deg. A uniform calibration, referred to Pan-STARRS system, applied g, r while Halpha calibration linked then...
We present optical and infrared observations of BQ Cam, the counterpart to Be/X-ray transient system V0332+53. Cam is shown be an O8-9Ve star, which places V0332+53 at a distance ~7 kpc. H-alpha spectroscopy photometry are used discuss evolution circumstellar envelope. Due low inclination system, parameters strongly constrained. find strong evidence for tilt orbital plane with respect disc (pressumably on equatorial plane). Even though periastron only ~ 10 R_*, during quiescent state does...
Using BATSE and RXTE observations from 1991 April to 2001 August, we have detected 71 outbursts 82 periastron passages of EXO 2030+375, a 42 s transient X-ray pulsar with Be star companion, including several 1993 August 1996 April, when the source was previously believed be quiescent. Combining BATSE, RXTE, EXOSAT data, derived an improved orbital solution. Applying this solution results in smooth profile for spin-up rate during giant outburst evidence correlation between observed flux...
We present optical $WBVR$ and infrared $JHKL$ photometric observations of the Be binary system $δ$ Sco, obtained in 2000--2005, mid-infrared (10 $18 μ$m) photometry ($λλ$ 3200--10500 Å) spectropolarimetry 2001. We investigated B Be star properties proportions this environment low metallicity. also searched for rapid variability using photometric databases.
We present photometric observations of the field around optical counterparts high-mass X-ray binaries. Our aim is to study long-term variability in correlation with their activity and derive a set secondary standard stars that can be used for time series analysis. find donors Be/X-ray binaries exhibit larger amplitude changes magnitudes colours than those hosting supergiant companion. The increases wavelength remains fairly constant systems. When scales years are considered, good between...
Abstract Background Delayed gastric emptying (DGE) is the most important cause of an extended hospital stay after pancreatoduodenectomy. Reports suggest that a Roux-en-Y gastroenteric anastomosis may have lower incidence DGE than Billroth II reconstruction. The primary aim this RCT was to compare (single loop) and (double pancreatoduodenectomy determine whether reconstruction associated with DGE. Secondary endpoints were postoperative complications. Methods This randomized unblinded...
The bright star delta Sco has been considered a typical B0-type object for many years. Spectra of the published prior to 1990 showed no evidence emission, but only short-term line profile variations attributed nonradial pulsations. Speckle interferometric observations show that is binary system with highly-eccentric orbit and period 10.6 Weak emission in H-alpha was detected its spectrum first time during periastron passage 1990. Shortly before next summer 2000, entered strong enhanced mass...
