This White Paper presents the science case of an Electron-Ion Collider (EIC), focused on structure and interactions gluon-dominated matter, with intent to articulate it broader nuclear community. It was commissioned by managements Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) Thomas Jefferson Accelerator Facility (JLab) objective presenting a summary scientific opportunities goals EIC as follow-up 2007 NSAC Long Range plan. document is culmination community-wide effort in following series workshops...

We provide an assessment of the energy dependence key measurements within scope machine parameters for a US based electron-ion collider (EIC) outlined in EIC White Paper. first examine importance physics underlying these context outstanding questions nuclear science. then demonstrate, through detailed simulations measurements, that likelihood transformational scientific insights is greatly enhanced by making range and reach as large practically feasible.

We present a new technique to calculate the cross-section for diffractive vector meson production and DVCS in electron-ion collisions based on dipole model. In 1935, in a paper entitled "Can quantum-mechanical description of reality be considered complete?", Einstein, Podolsky, and Rosen (EPR) formulated an apparent paradox quantum theory. They two systems that were initially allowed to interact, then later separated. A measurement physical observable performed on one system had have immediate effect the conjugate other - even if causally disconnected! The authors viewed this as clear indication inconsistency mechanics. parton model nucleon by...

The production of a hard dijet with small transverse momentum imbalance in semi-inclusive DIS probes the conventional and linearly polarized Weizsaecker-Williams (WW) Transverse Momentum Dependent (TMD) gluon distributions. latter, particular, gives rise to an azimuthal dependence cross-section. Why another conference devoted to ultra-relativistic heavy-ion physics? As we looked around the landscape of existing international conferences and workshops, realized that there was not a single one tailored people who are most directly involved with actual research work: students, post-docs, junior faculty/research scientists. Of course schools, but what had in mind. We wanted meeting where young researchers could come together discuss depth physics they working on without any hindrance....

Charged and neutral strange particle production was studied by the NA49 experiment at CERN. Preliminary inclusive spectra are presented for , particles, measured in a region close to mid-rapidity, central Pb+Pb collisions 158 GeV per nucleon. An enhanced relative properly scaled elementary nucleon-nucleon is observed, but its strength similar lighter S + nucleus systems. The enhancement stronger multistrange particles.
