AIM: To explore the role of phenotypic changes as possible limiting factors in immunological detection minimal residual disease patients with acute myeloid leukaemia (AML). METHODS: 20 relapses were evaluated, special attention to criteria used for definition a phenotype "aberrant". In all cases same monoclonal antibody and fluorochrome at diagnosis relapse. RESULTS: Six out 16 showed aberrant phenotypes diagnosis. At relapse, no detected most patients; nevertheless, two four asynchronous...

Summary. In the present study, seven normal human bone marrow samples from healthy volunteers have been analysed in order to investigate immunophenotypic characteristics of CD117 + cells and their utility for detection minimal residual disease 71 acute myeloid leukaemia patients. Our results show that most BM coexpress HLADR associated CD33 antigen. addition, almost half are CD34 , these displaying a different FSC/SSC distribution when compared /CD34 − cells. No /CD15 /CD10 were detected...

We describe a case of hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis related to visceral leishmaniasis in late adulthood. Because clinical features can mimic those lymphohistiocytosis, diagnosing as the underlying etiology be quite challenging. In our case, treatment with amphotericin B resulted dramatic resolution abnormalities.

Abstract In this study, we report on major MRD or URD BMT outcomes in pediatric patients with SAA Brazil. This was a retrospective which included 106 ≤18 years old who received first for SAA. All bone marrow as graft source from an (n = 69) 37). Conditioning regimen non‐myeloablative 73.6% of cases, and GVHD prophylaxis comprised calcineurin inhibitor plus methotrexate 89.6% patients. After median follow‐up 4.5 after BMT, 81 are alive, 4‐year OS 77% no statistically significant difference...

<ns3:p><ns3:bold>Background:</ns3:bold> Cancer is the second leading cause of death globally. Up to 86% advanced cancer patients experience significant pain, while 10-20% live in chronic pain. Besides, increasing prescription opioids resulted 33,000 deaths US 2015. Both reduce patients’ functional status and quality life. While survival rates are increasing, therapeutic options for opioid refractory pain still limited. Esketamine s-enantiomer ketamine, with superior analgesic effect less...

Background: Phantom limb pain (PLP) is highly prevalent after amputation. However, the influence of non-painful sensations (PLS) remains unclear. This study examines PLP-PLS index as a novel tool to differentiate PLP from PLS and explores association clinical factors with index. Methods: We conducted cross-sectional analysis baseline data 112 participants in previous factorial trial patients unilateral traumatic lower Linear regression models were used examine associations between various...

Chimeric antigen receptor T-cells (CAR T cells) are genetically modified cellular immunotherapies approved for standard of care treatment patients with lymphoma and leukemia worldwide. This study aimed at evaluating the use of immunophenotyping (IMP) in identification blast cells cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) children and adolescents with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Sixty-seven patients aged 18 years or younger were included. Fifty-five CSF samples analyzed initial diagnosis 17 time relapse. A cytological analysis (CA) was performed all 72 samples, while IMP done 63. Blasts identified only three by CA, whereas found negative IMP, one which had no isolation nucleated...

Although the application of Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation-specific Comorbidity Index (HCT-CI) has enabled better prediction transplant-related mortality (TRM) in allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplants (AHSCT), data from developing countries are scarce. This study prospectively evaluated HCT-CI and Adult Evaluation (ACE-27), its original a modified version, as predictors post-transplant complications adults undergoing first related or unrelated AHSCT Brazil. ABO blood group incompatibility between donor and recipient is associated with a number of immunohematological complications, but not considered major contraindication to allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. However, available evidence from the literature seems be conflicting as impact on overall survival, event-free transplant-related mortality, graft-versus-host disease, time neutrophil platelet engraftment. This single-center, prospective, cohort study included patients...

Methods We performed a retrospective analysis 44 pediatrics patients transplanted between 1990 and 2018. median age 5 years, 57% were male. Twenty‐five received their first HCT from an HLA‐matched sibling donor (MSD), 12 HLA matched unrelated bone marrow (MUD 10/10, n = 12) 7 other mismatched donors (MMD). Results After...
