We have investigated the physical and optical properties of left-handed chiral dopant ZLI-811 mixed in a nematic liquid crystal (LC) host BL006. The solubility BL006 at room temperature is ~24 wt%, but can be enhanced by increasing temperature. Consequently, photonic band gap cholesteric (CLC) with more than 24 wt% blue shifted as increases. Based on this property, we demonstrate two applications thermally tunable band-pass filters dye-doped CLC lasers.
The development of switchable adhesives for reversible bonding and debonding can overcome the problems associated with conventional in separating, recycling, repairing glued surfaces. Here, a photoresponsive azobenzene-containing polymer (azopolymer) is developed photocontrolled adhesion. azopolymer P1 (poly(6-(4-(p-tolyldiazenyl)phenoxy)hexyl acrylate)) exhibits photoinduced solid-to-liquid transitions due to trans-cis photoisomerization. Trans solid that glues two substrates stiffness...
A scattering-free broadband (approximately 120 nm bandwidth) circular polarizer is demonstrated by stacking three chiral polymer films with different pitch lengths. Using 4 x matrix method, we have theoretically simulated the transmission spectra of each film and stacked films. Simulation results agree well experiment. bandwidth ranging from 400 to 736 can be achieved 8 such together. indicate that if a high birefringence (Deltan approximately 0.35) employed number reduced three. Potential...
The conversion of CO2 to higher alcohols (HA) is a sustainable way for utilization, but the development an efficient catalyst with multifunctional active sites regulate C–C coupling process remains great challenge. Herein, we report Fe modified highly dispersed K and Pd synthesis HA. optimal 0.3K-1Pd/Fe2O3 displays best catalytic performance HA STY 48 mg gcat–1 h–1 at 320 °C, 5 MPa, 6 L h–1, which 3.5 times that 1Pd/Fe2O3 35 0.3K/Fe2O3 catalyst. We found in situ generated PdFe alloy...
A spatially tunable laser emission of the dye-doped cholesteric liquid crystal (CLC) cell using a one-dimensional temperature gradient is demonstrated. The photoexcitation CLC device frequency-doubled pulsed Nd: yttrium–aluminium–garnet gives rise to in yellow-red spectral range. lasing wavelength widely from 577 670 nm by shifting position with respect pumping beam. lowest excitation energy and maximum efficiency occur at λ∼605nm which corresponds peak fluorescence dye.
Reversible assembly of Janus particles was manipulated by host-guest interaction β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) and azobenzene. One side every particle modified with β-CD. Superstructures were formed adding azobenzene-containing polymers to the dispersion particles. The superstructures reversibly disassembled α-CD or light irradiation.
In this work, a gold nanoparticle/polyaniline/graphene ternary nanocomposite modified glassy carbon electrode (GNP/PANI/GR/GCE) was prepared and characterized by scanning electron microscopy, spectroscopic techniques, electrochemical techniques. It found that the GNP/PANI/GR exhibited good synergetic effect on signal from Pb2+, which is more efficient than of electrodes with individual materials. The could be applied in sensitive detection Pb2+ differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry...
A fast, sensitive, and convenient dual-emission water detector was robustly fabricated. This prepared with blue fluorescent carbon dots (CDs) red Cu nanoclusters (NCs), showed two well-resolved intensity-comparable fluorescence peaks under a single excitation wavelength. Moreover, it strong in organic solvent due to the aggregation-induced emission enhancement (AIEE) properties of NCs, but gradually quenched an increasing amount water, whereas remained constant. The differences response...
Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is closely associated with various diseases and commonly used as a target for disease diagnosis treatment, making research on H2O2 detection methods crucial. Compared to currently single-mode methods, dual-mode offers self-validation self-correction capabilities, which help provide more accurate results. Herein, an electrochemical colorimetric sensing platform was developed detect based copper/zirconium metal–organic framework (Cu/Zr-MOF) nanozymes high...
A low threshold and high efficiency laser based on dye-doped cholesteric liquid crystals (CLCs) is demonstrated using an input excitation with the same handedness of circular polarization as helical structure sample at shorter wavelength band edge reflection band. The responsible mechanism originates from dramatic increase optical density state (DOS) edges. calculated DOS CLC system confirms authors’ experimental results.
