This study aimed to investigate the protective effects of dietary glutamate and aspartate supplementations on diquat-induced oxidative stress in piglets. Diquat injection significantly reduced growth performance, including body weight, average daily weight gain, feed intake (P<0.05). Meanwhile, diquat administration induced evidenced by decreased serum nitric oxide (NO) elevated malondialdeyhde (MDA) concentration Furthermore, disrupted intestinal absorption system threonine, serine, glycine...

Major depressive disorder (MDD) and bipolar (BD) are common severe affective diseases. Although previous neuroimaging studies have investigated brain abnormalities in MDD or BD, the structural functional differences between these two disorders remain unclear. In this study, we adopted a multimodal approach, combining voxel-based morphometry (VBM) connectivity (FC), to study distinct alterations unmedicated BD patients. The VBM analysis revealed that both patients showed decreased gray matter...

Abstract Background Bipolar disorder (BD) has been associated with altered brain structural and functional connectivity. However, little is known regarding alterations of the connectome in BD. The present study aimed to use diffusion-tensor imaging (DTI) graph theory approaches investigate rich club organization white matter Methods Forty-two patients unmedicated BD depression 59 age-, sex- handedness-matched healthy control participants underwent DTI. whole-brain was constructed by a...

Resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI) is widely used to research abnormal connectivity (FC) in patients with disorders of consciousness (DOC). However, most studies assumed steady spatial-temporal signal interactions between distinct brain regions during the scan period. The aim this study was explore dynamic (dFC) DOC patients. After excluding 26 patients' data that failed meet requirements quality, we retained 19 (12 unresponsive wakefulness syndrome and 7 a...

During naturalistic vision, the brain generates coherent percepts by integrating sensory inputs scattered across visual field. Here, we asked whether this integration process is mediated rhythmic cortical feedback. In electroencephalography (EEG) and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) experiments, experimentally manipulated integrative processing changing spatiotemporal coherence of videos presented hemifields. Our EEG data revealed that information about incoherent coded in...

Excessive screen among children has been linked to a heightened likelihood of engaging in high-risk problem behaviours. This study aimed quantify the prevalence excessive delve into its correlation with behaviours school-aged Fujian, thereby gaining insight trends within this region. Methods...

Previous research shows that the typicality of visual scenes (i.e. if they are good examples a category) determines how easily can be perceived and represented in brain. However, unique diets individuals exposed to across their lifetimes should sculpt very personal notions typicality. Here, we thus investigated whether more typical individual observers accurately We used drawings enable participants describe (e.g. kitchen) converted these into three-dimensional renders. Bipolar disorder (BD) is characterized by emotion dysregulation and involves changes in the gray matter (GM) white (WM). Although previous diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) studies reported properties of deep WM (DWM) BD patients, superficial (SWM) are rarely investigated. In this study, we tried to determine whether parameters SWM were altered patients compared controls associated with disrupted regulation patients. We collected DTI data from 37 42 gender- age-matched healthy (HC). Using...

Individuals use social information to guide interactions and update relationships along multiple dimensions. However, it is unclear what neural basis underlies this process of abstract "social navigation". In the current study, we recruited twenty-nine participants who performed a choose-your-own-adventure game in which they interacted with fictional characters during fMRI scanning. Using whole-brain GLM approach, found that vectors encoding two-dimensional about predicted BOLD responses...
