Introduction Dogs are human companions and share environmental conditions with their owners. Epidemiological studies have shown that dogs seem to be good sentinel animals for the association of diseases and/or mortality provoked by chronic exposure heavy metals (Cd, Pb). Methods In present work, we analyze registered death cases population from National Canine Registry 2020 2022, involving a dog 582,564 17,507 deaths. The rate in male not-purebred is higher than female purebred dogs,...

The rapid identification of beached marine micro-plastics is essential for the determination source pollution and planning most effective strategies remediation. In this paper, we present results obtained by applying laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) technique on a large sample different kinds plastics that can be found in environment. use chemometric analytical tools allowed classification pellets with an accuracy greater than 80%. LIBS spectrum statistical tests proved their...

Cancer is a leading cause of death in cats, and the rate such disease has been increasing recently. Nonetheless, feline oncology represents an important area study not only for health wellbeing cats but also human since various types cancer share similarities to those found humans. Therefore, epidemiological studies on may suggest environmental genetic factors contributing which can eventually be translated improve care.

Eosin is a xanthenic synthetic organic dye/pigment synthesized by Caro in 1873. It was precipitated with lead and aluminum salts commercialized as geranium lake it one of the most brilliant hues palette Impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh. Pesticides play a critical role in modern agriculture by protecting crops and ensuring higher yields, but their widespread use raises concerns about human health environmental impact. Regulatory agencies impose Maximum Residue Levels (MRLs) to ensure safety, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) assesses pesticide risks. This study monitored residues 169 feed samples from Piedmont (Italy) collected between 2019 2023. Using GC-MS/MS, were found 92% of animal-based 70% cereal-based...

In this paper, we present a preliminary study for the development of low-cost, compact microplastics sensor which could be mounted, in principle, on float drifters, monitoring large marine surfaces. The results indicate that simple equipped with three infrared-sensitive photodiodes can reach classification accuracies around 90% most diffused floating environment (polyethylene and polypropylene).
