Olea europaea L. is a particularly long-lived tree species characteristic of the Mediterranean region. In this study 44 standard cultivars and 89 wild trees derived from sexual reproduction in different geographic origins were scored for seven leaf enzyme systems. Genetic analyses showed that nine 11 studied loci polymorphic, with an average 2.7 alleles per locus all analyzed. Wild had, on average, 66% heterozygous loci, cultivated had only 19% loci. Moreover, when they grew together, trees,...

In modern literature it is generally assumed that ear canals have little to no effect on the directional components of head-related transfer functions and thus, spatial perception sound. Therefore, in most audio applications today, sound propagation only considered up blocked entrance canal. To challenge this assumption, a study was conducted using custom-made 3D printed replicas subject's outer ears including complete with microphones embedded at eardrum position. The were mounted cheek...

Abstract Aims lymphadenopathy can occur after COVID-19 vaccination and when encountered at ultrasound examinations performed for other reasons might pose a diagnostic challenge. Purpose of the study was to evaluate incidence, course imaging features vaccine-induced lymphadenopathy. Methods 89 healthy volunteers (median age 30, 76 females) were prospectively enrolled. Vaccine-related clinical side effects (e.g., fever, fatigue, palpable or painful lymphadenopathy) recorded. Participants...

Individual Head Related Transfer Functions (HRTFs), crucial for realistic virtual audio rendering, can be efficiently numerically computed on precise three-dimensional head and ear scans. While photogrammetry scanning is promising, it generally lacks in accuracy, leading to HRTFs showing significant perceptual deviation from reference data, owing the error mainly affecting most occluded pinna structures. This papers analyses use of Deep Neural Networks (DNNs) denoising photogrammetric...

Herein, the energy performance of photovoltaic noise barriers (PVNBs) with cassette and shingles built‐on designs is evaluated using imec's yield framework. The simulation validated through on‐site electrical thermal measurements, then same design employed for a case study near E19 road in Belgium different scenarios. To optimize yield, variations barrier height, orientation, PV module tilt are introduced. simulated to identify optimal combination parameters maximize production. results show...

Abstract Background Plaque erosion (PE) is the second most common pathology of acute coronary events after plaque rupture. PE characterized by endothelial denudation and formation neutrophil extracellular traps. Patients with may have a different prognosis as compared to those Specific clinical laboratory predictors were validated suspect among syndrome (ACS) patients. Purpose The objectives this study compare both findings, outcomes ACS patients high probability less likely PE. Methods Six...

Due to the distance-dependent characteristics of near-field Head-Related Transfer Functions (HRTFs), their acquisition procedure is much more complex than that far-field HRTFs, which already rather tedious. Recently, an approach efficiently measure HRTFs with a high distance resolution using continuously moving sound source and Least Mean Square (LMS) adaptive filtering algorithm has been proposed. Using this approach, we obtained dataset containing horizontal-plane HRTF data Neumann's KU...

Individual Head-Related Transfer Functions (HRTFs) are necessary for the accurate rendering of virtual scenes. However, their acquisition is challenging given complex pinna shape. Numerical methods can be leveraged to compute HRTFs on meshes originating from precise scans a subject. Although photogrammetry used scanning, its inaccuracy might affect spatial cues simulated HRTFs. This paper aims assess significance photogrammetric error affecting Neumann KU100 dummy head scan. Abstract Objectives Our study sought to investigate the role of invasive hemodynamic monitoring during Transcatheter Edge Repair (TEER) procedure on top transesophageal echocardiographic (TEE) guidance. Background Direct impact residual MR after TEER is not always univocally measured by TEE assessment alone. When analyzing result operators often encounter discrepancy between guidance and monitoring. Methods We analyzed 78 patients with moderate-to-severe or severe mitral regurgitation (MR)...
