Measurements of the angular distributions gamma-rays and alpha-particles from reaction ${\mathrm{N}}^{15}(p, \ensuremath{\alpha}\ensuremath{\gamma}){\mathrm{C}}^{12}$ indicate that 4.432-Mev excited state ${\mathrm{C}}^{12}$ is ${2}^{+}$ or >4, 12.51-Mev level ${\mathrm{O}}^{16}$ ${2}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ >5, 12.95-Mev 13.24-Mev ${4}^{+}$ >5.
The thick-target yield of the reaction $\mathrm{T}+\mathrm{D}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\alpha}+n+17.6 \mathrm{MeV}$has been measured, using a heavy-ice target, and observations have made on angular distribution $\ensuremath{\alpha}$-particles. Experiments conducted in region 15-kev to 125-kev incident triton energy. Within this range appears be isotropic center-of-gravity system. cross section for as function energy has evaluated from measurements. It rise more rapidly with than is...
The thick target yield $N(E)$ of the reaction ${\mathrm{D}}^{2}$ + \ensuremath{\rightarrow} ${\mathrm{H}}^{3}$ ${\mathrm{H}}^{1}$ 4.0 Mev has been studied using a heavy ice target, and angular distribution protons observed. Experiments have carried out from 15 to 105 kev incident deuteron energy. There is evidence that even for very small bombarding energies in c.g. system does not become isotropic. Evaluation cross section $\ensuremath{\sigma}(E)$ involves an estimate energy loss deuterons...
The angular correlations between alpha-particles and gamma-rays in transitions states of ${\mathrm{Ne}}^{20}$ the low excited ${\mathrm{O}}^{16}$ have been studied at 669-, 874-, 935-kev resonances for proton capture fluorine. alpha-particle groups were separated magnetically from each other scattered protons. results lead to definite assignments spin parity nuclear involved, show that first four levels are consistent with a simple model this nucleus. Where interference occurs reaction,...
In the normal theory of stripping reactions it is assumed that outgoing nucleon comes from incident deuteron. It well known this not strictly justified (although may be a good approximation in many cases) because need principle to antisymmetrize total wave function. This paper discusses process with exchange appears when antisymmetry taken into account. With help simplifying assumptions, expressions are obtained for amplitude direct transition between initial and final states system. The...
The consequences of an exchange contribution to a specific stripping reaction are worked out in some detail. particular transition considered is that which leads the first excited state ${\mathrm{B}}^{11}$ and forbidden by angular momentum restrictions ordinary theory. calculation provides fair measure agreement with experiment on distribution, yield, energy dependence reaction. relation present analysis treatments heavy-particle spin-flip briefly discussed.
The methods of calculating fields due to quasi-steady currents in closed and unclosed circuits are reviewed. It is emphasized that it sufficient apply the Biot-Savart law all moving charges ignore vacuum displacement current. Attention drawn a basic error widespread practice treating circuit containing capacitor as though fringing could be ignored current replaced by conduction confined gap between plates.
This paper describes a detailed study of the ${\mathrm{B}}^{11}(p, {\ensuremath{\alpha}}_{0}){\mathrm{Be}}^{8}$, {\ensuremath{\alpha}}_{1}){\mathrm{Be}}^{8*}(2{\ensuremath{\alpha}}_{2})$, and p)$ processes for region proton energies spanning resonances at 0.67 Mev 1.4 Mev. The measurements include excitation functions angular distributions, together with correlation between ${\ensuremath{\alpha}}_{1}$ ${\ensuremath{\alpha}}_{2}$ as inferred from alpha-particle energy spectrum in fixed...
The angular distribution of alpha-particles long range from the reaction 11B(p, α)8Be has been studied over 130 to 280 keV proton energy. A strong anisotropy varying with energy is observed and can be explained in terms an interference between states opposite parity 12C. theoretical analysis gives result that well-known 16.11 MeV level 12C formed by resonant capture 162 protons 11B spin 2 even parity.
Summary The angular distribution of long-range alpha particles from the reaction 15N(p, α) has been investigated over range 230 kev-960 kev proton energy. It is found that levels in 16O formed by resonant capture protons energy 340 and 1050 have spin parity (0, +) (1, -) respectively. Interference effects caused these two observed, but phase differences necessary to account for are not full agreement with those predicted modern dispersion theory.
A differential ionization chamber with electron collection has been designed for the study of α-particle spectra. Two chambers this type have used to investigate α-α coincidences in reaction 7Li(d, α n)4He. The results confirm that process takes place, and observed angular correlation successive α-particles lends some support view virtual ground state 5He is P3/2.
The COVID-19 pandemic has been associated with an ‘infodemic’, and young people have reported difficulties dealing COVID-19-related information. present cross-sectional study aimed to explore health knowledge related accessing relevant information as aspects of literacy in a cohort adolescents adults residing Ireland. It also concerns levels compliance precautionary measures. Data were collected from (n = 1009) aged 12–25 years old through online anonymous survey. Our findings highlight that...
Abstract A review is made of experimental evidence on the energy losses protons and deuterons in materials low atomic number, at energies belowa bout 350 keV. The discrepancies between results different experiments are discussed, an attempt to arrive a plausible curve loss as function for heavy ice below 700 region 0–100 keV., which considerable interest study D-D reaction, given special attention.
