Fermentation of whey by Clostridium acetobutylicum yielded butanol and acetone in a ratio approximately 100:1. This amounted to only 2:1 synthetic media with glucose, lactose, or glucose plus galactose as substrates. Removal citrate from addition minerals resulted an increase the amount produced. Experiments carried out chemostat low-phosphate medium revealed that butanol/acetone could be increased 3.8:1 cofermentation l -lactate 8:1 iron limitation. The performance fermentation low-iron...
There are limited global data on head-to-head comparisons of vaccine platforms assessing both humoral and cellular immune responses, stratified by pre-vaccination serostatus. The COVID-19 vaccination drive for the Indian population in age group 18–45 years began April 2021 when seropositivity rates general were rising due to delta wave pandemic during April–May 2021. Between June 30, 2021, Jan 28, 2022, we enrolled 691 participants across four clinical sites India. In this non-randomised...
A Gram-stain-positive, rod-shaped, non-motile bacterium, strain PRD07T, was isolated from Godavari river, India during the world's largest spiritual and religious mass bathing event 'Kumbh Mela'. Molecular analysis using 16S rRNA gene sequencing phylogenetic reveals distinct positioning of PRD07T within genus Corynebacterium. The demonstrated highest sequence similarity to Corynebacterium imitans DSM 44264T (97.9 %), appendicis 44531T (97.1 %) <96.7 % with all other members G+C content 68.5...
R ale , V.B. & V akil J.R. 1984. A note on an improved molybdate agar for the selective isolation of yeasts from tropical fruits. Journal Applied Bacteriology 56 409–413. Molybdate was fortified with 0.125% calcium propionate and used routine differentiation a variety mixed floras including large numbers fungi actinomycetes inhabiting The results suggest that this technique could be usefully incorporated in yeast identification procedures.
We reported our comparative observations on oligotrophs vs. copiotrophs from a hyper-alkaline and hypersaline habitat, Lonar Lake, situated in the Buldhana district of Maharashtra, India. Cell numbers oligotrophic copiotrophic microbes sediment were enumerated by three-tube most probable number (MPN) method using an array nutrient-rich (≈10–20 mg carbon L −1 ) media offering simulated natural conditions pH salinity. A total 50 strains 15 different genera 30 species isolated highest positive...
A Gram-stain-negative, aerobic, yellow-pigmented, oxidase-positive and rod-shaped bacterium, designated PRB40T, was isolated from the Godavari River in India during course of 'Kumbh Mela', world's largest mass gathering event. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences revealed that strain PRB40T formed a lineage within family Sphingomonadaceae distinct most closely related genera Sphingorhabdus, Novosphingobiumand Sphingomonas with sequence similarity values ≤95.2 %. Growth...
Abstract The current study attempts to analyze recent trends, biases and limitations of cultivation-based microbial diversity studies based on published, novel species in the past 6 years International Journal Systematic Evolutionary Microbiology (IJSEM), an official publication Committee Systematics Prokaryotes (ICSP) Bacteriology Applied (BAM) Division Union Microbiological Societies (IUMS). IJSEM deals with taxa that have validly published names under Code Nomenclature (ICNP). All...
(1) Background: Iron deficiency anemia is a significant nutritional problem all over the world. Salt formulations supplemented with encapsulated iron and iodine (double-fortified) were tested for their efficacy in managing anemia. In this study, we have checked effect of these double-fortified salt (iron iodine) on hemoglobin (Hb) levels anemic Wistar male rats. (2) Methods: The study was divided into two phases, viz., development first phase then random division rats five groups (Groups A...
Background and Aim: The Indian global poultry industries suffer significant economic losses due to Mycoplasma gallisepticum (MG) synoviae (MS) infections, which adversely affect egg production, hatchability, weight gain, feed efficiency in farms, thus decreasing the overall production efficiency. This study aimed determine percent positivity phylogenetic analysis of MG, MS, co-infection both mycoplasmas commercial farms across different states India from 2017 2021. Materials Methods: A total...
