The effect of intra-bone injection differentiated rat bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMMSCs) into the femur osteoporotic female rats was studied. Osteoporosis induced in Wistar by bilateral ovariectomy. Then, 0.75 million BMMSCs isolated from healthy were injected femurs rats. Histomorphometric analysis and histology clearly revealed improvements treated group as compared to untreated group. In 2 months, rats, unlike showed trabecular percentage almost similar control To confirm origin...
The sustainable use of pomegranate peel, a by‐product the food industry, is gaining importance in developing pharmaceutical bio‐inputs, aligning with circular economy practices and waste reduction. This study explores application dry crude peel extract (PPE) as bio‐input for medicinal gels wound healing properties. PPE was extracted via percolation ethanol freeze‐dried. High‐performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) mass spectrometry identified key bioactive compounds: gallic acid,...
The objective of this study was to evaluate fetal weight, histomorphometric changes and proliferative activity, apoptosis angiogenesis the placenta in rats with hypothyroidism. Thirty-six adult female were divided into two groups 18 animals each: control Hypothyroidism induced by daily administration propylthiouracil (1 mg/animal). began five days before becoming pregnant sacrificed at 14 or 19 gestation. group received a placebo. number weight fetuses rate death determined, as well...
<i>Background/Aims:</i> The aim of this study was to investigate the dose-dependent effects triiodothyronine (T3) on osteogenic differentiation mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs). <i>Methods:</i> MSCs that express CD73, CD54 (intercellular adhesion molecule-1) and CD90 were cultured in triplicate (1 × 105/well) medium with T3 (1, 10, 103 or 105 p<i>M</i>) without (control) for 7, 14 21 days....
The aim of the present study was to compare osteogenic potential mesenchymal stem cells extracted from bone marrow (BM-MSCs) and adipose tissue (AD-MSCs) young dogs. following parameters were assessed: dimethyl thiazolyl diphenyl tetrazolium (MTT) conversion, alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity, collagen mineralised matrix synthesis, expressions osterix, sialoprotein (BSP), osteocalcin (OC). MTT conversion greater in BM-MSCs compared AD-MSCs after 14 21 days differentiation; ALP activity...
To examine whether physical activity increases osteogenic differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMMSCs) from adult rats compared with young rats.Eighteen female Wistar were divided into three groups and the following isolated: (1) differentiated BMMSCs donors, (2) sedentary donors (3) active donors. We analysed MTT conversion, percentage per field, mineralized nodule number gene expression for telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT), alkaline phosphatase, caspase 3,...
Paracoccidioidomycosis, PCM, the major systemic mycosis in Latin America, is caused by termally dimorphic fungus Paracoccidioides brasiliensis and requires extended periods of chemotherapy with a significant frequency relapsing disease. The search for new alternatives treatment necessary. rPb27 an antigenic protein from P. that already showed protective activity as vaccine PCM experimental models. cDNA was subcloned into pET-DEST 42 plasmid, expressed E. coli his-tag purified affinity...
Osteoporosis causes reduction of osteogenic differentiation mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) from bone marrow and adipose tissue. This study was designed to compare the potential (BMMSCs) adipose-derived (ADSCs) ovariectomized (OVX) rats. MSC were harvested inguinal fat pads six OVX The limitations this report are that different animals pooled for purpose experiments carried out in study. At 7, 14 21 d differentiation, 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT)...
What is the central question of this study? Clinical studies suggest that obesity 'protects' against osteoporosis. However, these used only bone densitometry and assessed one site, which insufficient to enable conclusions be drawn about response whole skeleton. Furthermore, effects exercise on responses in have not been explored previously. main finding what its importance? We show causes osteopetrosis. Therefore, classical perspective 'protective obesity' needs reviewed, an important tool...
Paracoccidioides brasiliensis is the etiological agent of paracoccidioidomycosis (PCM), a chronic granulomatous mycosis prevalent in Latin America, and cell-mediated immunity represents main mode protection against this fungal infection. The conventional treatment for involves long periods therapy resulting sequels high frequency relapse. search new alternative methods thus necessary. With aim, objective work was to evaluate potential rPb27 rPb40 immunization reduce length relapse when used...
1300 ppm (1.3 g / L), water and ethanol extracts prepared from stems or roots of Picrolemma sprucei Hook. f. were lethal (85-90 % mortality) in vitro to Haemonchus contortus (Barber Pole Worm) larvae, a gastrointestinal nematode parasite found domestic wild ruminants. Neosergeolide isobrucein B isolated 0.0083 0.0070 yield dry, ground P. (0.89 kg). Neosergeolide, the anthelmintic drug standard levamisole all caused comparable mortality rates (68-77 %) H. at similar concentrations (81-86...
Caffeine is an alkaloid that widely consumed due to its presence in drugs, coffee, tea, and chocolate. This compound passes offspring through the placenta milk; can cause teratogenic mutations; reduces formation, growth, mass of bone. Because mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are responsible for generating entire skeleton, we hypothesized these targets caffeine. study evaluated osteogenic differentiation MSCs derived from rats treated with caffeine during pregnancy lactation. Twenty-four adult...
Summary Due to an inadequate knowledge about threats the sea turtle, we aimed evaluate helminth fauna of Chelonia mydas which had died on southern coast Espirito Santo, Brasil and described associated tissue pathological lesions. Retrospective prospective studies turtle parasites were conducted tissues samples collected. 106 212 turtles (50 %) parasitized, 47 infected animals 43.0 % (47/106) in poor health condition. Seven trematoda families covering 19 different helminths species...
Our proposal aims to investigate the impact that exposure cigarette smoke has on development of lesions in colorectal mucosa vivo model carcinogenesis. For that, 24 young male rats were induced carcinogenesis and separated into two groups: for 20 weeks (DMH+/Tobacco+) control (DMH+/Tobacco-). In group (DMH+/Tobacco+), 14.7% dysplasia 85.29% malignant neoplasms observed, including tubular adenocarcinoma (73%), carcinoma situ (17%) signet-ring cell (10%). Mononuclear inflammation pleomorphisms...
This paper describes the first occurrence of Rhytidodoides similis Price, 1939, parasitizing a juvenile green turtle (Chelonia mydas Linnaeus, 1758) found on coast Brazil. parasite is known only from C. mydas, with previous reports occurrences in liver and gall bladder sea turtles United States, Panama, Costa Rica. In this case, no gross or microscopic lesions were associated R. similis. However, analysis revealed granulomas trematode eggs consistent spirorchiids.
A case of myofibroblastic sarcoma in the left hind limb is reported a 4-year-old male, mixed-breed horse. This report includes clinical signs, macroscopic and microscopic lesions, immunohistochemical findings related to this neoplasm.
