To support the global restart of elective surgery, data from an international prospective cohort study 8492 patients (69 countries) was analysed using artificial intelligence (machine learning techniques) to develop a predictive score for mortality in surgical with SARS-CoV-2. We found that patient rather than operation factors were best predictors and used these create COVIDsurg Mortality Score (https://covidsurgrisk.app). Our demonstrates it is safe wide range services selected patients.

Model-based clustering techniques have been widely applied to various application areas, while most studies focus on canonical mixtures with unique component distribution form. However, this strict assumption is often hard satisfy. In paper, we consider the more flexible Copula-Based Mixture Models (CBMMs) for clustering, which allow heterogeneous distributions composed by choices of marginal and copula forms. More specifically, propose an adaptation Generalized Iterative Conditional...

Background: Multivisceral transplantation entails the en-bloc of stomach, duodenum, pancreas, liver and bowel following resection native organs. Diffuse portomesenteric thrombosis, defined as complete occlusion portal system, can lead to life-threatening gastrointestinal bleeding, malnutrition be associated with intestinal failure. is only procedure that offers a definitive solution by completely replacing system. However, this technically challenging in setting. The aim study describe our...

Introduction:The relationship between the appropriateness of transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) and its clinical impact is still a matter debate. Objective: The aim this study was to assess degree adherence appropriate use criteria for echocardiography, in tertiary public hospital United Kingdom, as well exam on patient management. Methods: 859 TTE's performed consecutively during January 2014 were reviewed appropriateness, classified appropriate, uncertain or inappropriate using 2011...

Introduction: Multivisceral transplantation (MVTx) -defined as the en bloc of abdominal viscera (stomach, duodenum, pancreas, liver and small bowel) is mostly performed for complicated diffuse complete portomesenteric thrombosis. Experience limited procedure still in its relative infancy, but number cases likely to rise with advent new indications. Case description: In August 2011, a 20 year-old male was referred our department Imaging showed extensive hepatosplenomegaly perfusion defects...
