Anaplasma phagocytophilum is a Gram-negative obligate intracellular bacterium that replicates in neutrophils. It transmitted via tick-bite and causes febrile disease humans animals. Human granulocytic anaplasmosis regarded as an emerging infectious North America, Europe Asia. However, although increasingly detected, it still rare Europe. Clinically apparent A. infections animals are mainly found horses, dogs, cats, sheep cattle. Evidence from cross-infection experiments isolates of distinct...

Antimicrobial resistance of Escherichia coli is a growing problem in both developed and developing countries. This study aimed to investigate the phenotypic antimicrobial E. isolates (n = 260) isolated from stool specimen patients attending public health facilities Addis Ababa Hossana. also characterize phenotypically confirmed extended-spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL)-producing 22) using whole-genome sequencing. Whole-genome sequencing (WGS) has replaced Pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE)-based bacterial genotyping as the reference method. We investigated suitability of purified genomic DNA extracted from PFGE agarose plugs stored in a laboratory collection for WGS cases where isolates are no longer available. Our study shown that can be successfully performed on plugs.

Abstract Background Anaplasma phagocytophilum infects a wide variety of hosts and causes granulocytic anaplasmosis in humans, horses dogs tick-borne fever ruminants. Infection with A. results the modification host gene expression immune response. The objective this research was to characterize pigs ( Sus scrofa ) naturally experimentally infected trying identify mechanisms that help explain low infection prevalence species. Results For analysis pigs, microarray hybridization used....

Hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) and Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic (CCHF) are important viral fevers (VHF), especially in the Balkan region. Infections Dobrava or Puumala orthohantavirus orthonairovirus can vary from a mild, nonspecific febrile illness, to severe disease fatal outcome. The pathogenesis of both diseases is poorly understood, but it has been suggested that host’s immune mechanism might influence survival. aim our study characterize cytokine response patients VHF...

Abstract Ticks act as vectors of many pathogens domestic animals and humans. Anaplasma phagocytophilum in Europe is transmitted by the ixodid tick vector Ixodes ricinus . A. causes a disease with diverse clinical signs various hosts. A great genetic diversity groESL operon has been found ticks elsewhere. In Slovenia, variety was conducted only on deer samples. this study, prevalence infected estimated evaluated. On 8 locations 1924 5049 (6973) I. were collected from vegetation years 2005...

West Nile virus (WNV) is a flavivirus transmitted by mosquitoes. Birds are the reservoir for virus; humans, horses and other mammals dead-end hosts. Infections caused WNV in humans can vary from asymptomatic infections to fever (WNF) or neuroinvasive disease (WNND). In 1995, serosurvey was performed Slovenia on forest workers, specific IgG antibodies were confirmed 6.8% of screened samples, indicating that circulating Slovenia.
