In this work, composite core–shell ZnO/TiO2 materials were fabricated by deposition of TiO2 layers via sol–gel method on ZnO nanorods hydrothermally grown ITO electrode.
ePix10K is a hybrid pixel detector developed at SLAC for demanding free-electron laser (FEL) applications, providing an ultrahigh dynamic range (245 eV to 88 MeV) through gain auto-ranging. It has three modes (high, medium and low) two auto-ranging (high-to-low medium-to-low). The first cameras are built around modules consisting of sensor flip-chip bonded 4 ASICs, resulting in 352 × 384 pixels 100 µm x each. We present results from extensive testing with FEL beams LCLS, measured noise floor...
A second generation camera system has been developed and built at SLAC for use in experiments the Linac Coherent Light Source (LCLS). The is around ePix family of hybrid pixel detectors, with a focus on modularity mechanical, electrical, data acquisition interfaces, allowing versatile that can be quickly reconfigured. first compact, 155 mm × 52 box, an active area up to 35 38 mm, recording full frames over 540 kpixel rates excess 120 Hz. allows fast debugging development, providing test...
The ePix100A camera is a 0.5 megapixel (704 x 768 pixels) for low noise x-ray detection applications requiring high spatial and spectral resolution. built around hybrid pixel detector consisting of 4 ePix100a ASICs ip-chip bonded to one sensor. pixels are 50 μm (active sensor size ~ 35:4mm 38:6 mm), with 180 eV rms, range 100 8 keV photons, current frame rate 240 Hz (with an upgrade path towards 10 kHz). This performance leads combining dynamic range, signal ratio, speed excellent linearity...
OVER the past two decades momentum resolving spectrometers have revolutionized electron and ion spectroscopy. Momentum spectroscopy has enabled a new class of experiments in both laser based ultrafast sciences, x-ray [1]. The fundamental concept these is that time-of-arrival (ToA) position each fragment measured. From data vector particle can be calculated. So far delay-line detectors on microchannel plate (MCP) long wire anode been used which are severely limited their multi-hit capability...
A wide range current digitizer card is needed for the acquisition module of beam loss monitoring systems in CERN Injector Complex. The fully differential frequency converter allows measuring positive and negative input currents with a resolution 31 nA an integration window 2 μs. Increasing window, dynamic covers 21010 were upper part converted by directly voltage drop on resistor. key elements this design are integrator switches operated FPGA. circuit designed to avoid any dead time...
The high repetition rate of second generation FEL is pushing the requirements photon science x-ray cameras. In particular LCLS-II, planned upgrade LCLS, will be able to operate at a continuous 1 MHz. To exploit new possibilities this novel machine an program for ePix family detectors undergoing. ASICs integrate core functionalities Their architecture based on common platform composed random access analog matrix pixel with global shutter, fast parallel column readout. ePixHR represents and...
A beam of Mn+ ions in the ground level 3d5(a6S)4s a 7S3 and metastable 5S2 (9472 cm-1) was produced discharge Mn vapour. The were selectively excited by frequency-doubled radiation pulsed dye laser to levels 3d5(a6S)4p z 7PJ (J=2, 3) 3d5(a 6S)4p 5PJ (J=1, 2, 3). radiative lifetimes these measured time-resolved observation re-emitted fluorescence. results are compared with other experimental theoretical values.
THE SLAC Linac Coherent Light Source (LCLS) upgrade, known as LCLS-II, will provide extremely bright X-ray laser light at higher rate, moving from the actual 120 pulses per second (120 Hz) to 1 million (1 MHz). The facility operate in a soft range (250 eV - 2 keV), performing experiments wide of fields that are now impossible.
Risk is a fundamental consideration when designing electronic systems. For most systems view of risk can assist in setting design objectives, whereas both qualitative and quantitative understanding mandatory considering protection This paper gives an overview the risks due to stored magnetic beam energies high-energy physics, shows how risk-based approach be used new mitigating these risks, using lifecycle inspired by IEC 61508. Designing physics challenging as novel techniques are difficult...
