In the present study, we evaluated safety and effectiveness of SYT-SSX-derived peptide vaccines in patients with advanced synovial sarcoma. A 9-mer spanning SYT-SSX fusion region (B peptide) its HLA-A*2402 anchor substitute (K9I) were synthesized. Protocols A1 A2, alone administered subcutaneously six times at 14-day intervals. The B was used Protocol A1, whereas K9I A2. B1 B2, mixed incomplete Freund's adjuvant then addition, interferon-α injected on same day again 3 days after vaccination....

We present 2 cases of hibernoma. Positron emission tomography using the glucose analog [18F]fluoro-2-deoxy-d-glucose (FDG) patients with hibernoma showed intense accumulation. Standardized uptake values (SUVs) in these were 11.93 and 26.74, much higher than SUVs reported published studies liposarcomas. FDG positron may thus be able to differentiate hibernomas from

Abstract Objective The current study evaluated the performance of psoas muscle mass measurement for detecting low skeletal quantity. Methods A sample 82 consecutive patients with gynecological cancers was examined using computed tomography and dual energy X-ray absorptiometric scan before treatment. Skeletal index measured by its cut-off value set at 5.40 kg/m2 mass. Psoas manually cross-sectional imaging level L3 six evaluators. Results Low identified in 23 (28.0%) patients. Two-way...

Osteosarcoma is the most common form of malignant bone tumor that occurs during childhood and adolescence. The proximal fibula a relatively rare site for osteosarcoma. We reviewed 305 cases osteosarcoma registered at Tohoku Musculoskeletal Tumor Society (TMTS) between 1975 1999. Thirteen patients (4.3%) had their osteosarcomas localized in fibula. Conventional fibroblastic accounted 46% this series. Limb-sparing surgery was performed all 13 initial surgery, peroneal nerve preserved 4 cases....

Diffuse-type tenosynovial giant cell tumor (TS-GCT) is categorized as a locally aggressive but non-metastasizing neoplasm according to the WHO classification. Herein, we report an extremely rare case of 41-year-old woman who developed multiple metastases from diffuse TS-GCT with benign histological features. The patient complained painful buttock mass and imaging studies revealed soft tissue pulmonary nodules. was excised final diagnosis extra-articular diffuse-type TS-GCT. By video-assisted...
