ABSTRACT Lipophilic yeasts of the genus Malassezia are part normal cutaneous microflora and considered one factors that trigger atopic dermatitis (AD). We isolated two strains from a healthy Japanese female. Analysis D1/D2 26S ribosomal DNA internal transcribed spacer region sequences isolates suggested they new members . propose name japonica sp. nov. for isolates. M is easily distinguished seven known lipophilic species by its ability to assimilate Tween 40 60 inability 20 80 grow at 40°C....

Malassezia species are considered to be one of the exacerbating factors in atopic dermatitis (AD). During examination cutaneous colonization AD patients, we found a new on surface patients' skin. Analysis ribosomal DNA sequences suggested that isolates belonged genus MALASSEZIA: They did not grow Sabouraud dextrose agar but utilized specific concentrations Tween 20, 40, 60, and 80 as lipid source. Thus, concluded our were members propose name dermatis sp. nov. for these isolates.

ABSTRACT The nucleotide sequences of the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) 1 and 2 regions in rRNA gene were determined by directly sequencing PCR-amplified fragments for all species (17 five varieties) genus Trichosporon . Comparative sequence analysis suggests that six medically relevant species, T. asahii , asteroides cutaneum inkin mucoides ovoides can be readily identified their ITS sequences. In addition, showed conspecific strains have fewer than 1% differences overall. Molecular...

ABSTRACT We determined the sequence of intergenic spacer (IGS) 1 region, which is located between 26S and 5S rRNA genes, in 25 species genus Trichosporon . IGS sequences varied length from 195 to 719 bp. Comparative analysis suggested that divergence has been greater than internal transcribed regions. also identified five genotypes T asahii , a major causative agent deep-seated trichosporonosis, based on 43 strains. Most isolates originated Japan were genotype 1, whereas American 3 or 5. Our...

Patients with atopic dermatitis (AD) are highly susceptible to viral, bacterial, and fungal skin infections because their is dry this compromises the barrier function of skin. Therefore, microbiota patients AD believed be different from that healthy individuals. In present study, nine mild, moderate, or severe ten subjects were compared using an rRNA clone library. Fungal D1/D2 large subunit analysis 3647 clones identified 58 species seven unknown phylotypes in face scale samples subjects....

Abstract The skin surface is colonized by a wide variety of fungi and bacteria. While many these organisms, including Malassezia , Candida Streptococcus Staphylococcus species, are associated with provocation and/or exacerbation psoriasis, detailed analysis the cutaneous fungal microbiome in psoriatic patients has yet to be performed. To identify disease‐specific microbiota on scale samples, r RNA gene sequences from 12 healthy controls were analyzed pyrosequencing. A total 317 806...

Although active targeting of anticancer drugs using magnetically responsive carriers is a very attractive treatment approach for solid tumors, successful results are limited. In particular, the therapeutic utility intravenously administered has to date not been clearly established.
