We have demonstrated simple reconfigurable all-optical logic operations based on four-wave mixing in semiconductor optical amplifier and encoding information the polarization of input signals. Experimental implementation six functions (including XOR, XNOR, AND, NOR, etc.) operating at 10 Gb/s were realized by simply adjusting two controllers setup.

Colorimetric detection of biogenic amines, well-known indicators food spoilage, plays an important role for monitoring safety. However, common colorimetric sensors amines suffer from low color resolution or complicated design and intricate output the end-users. Herein, we explored a simple but effective strategy visual with multiple change based on hydrolysis-induced silver metallization reaction to tune localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) adsorption Au nanorods (NRs). The blue shift...

Abstract The second largest Phanerozoic mass extinction occurred at the Ordovician-Silurian (O-S) boundary. However, unlike other major events, driver for O-S remains uncertain. abundance of mercury (Hg) and total organic carbon (TOC) Ordovician early Silurian marine sediments were analyzed from four sections (Huanghuachang, Chenjiahe, Wangjiawan Dingjiapo) in Yichang area, South China, as a test evidence massive volcanism associated with event. Our results indicate Hg concentrations...

The 2-μm wave band is emerging as a potential new window for optical telecommunications with several distinct advantages over the traditional 1.55 μm region. First of all, hollow-core photonic gap fiber (HC-PBGF) an transmission candidate ultra-low nonlinearity and lowest latency (0.3% slower than light propagating in vacuum) that has its minimum loss within wavelength band. Second, thulium-doped amplifier operates this spectral region provides significantly more bandwidth erbium-doped...
