Herein, we report an anthracene-based material, 2-(anthracen-9-yl)thianthrene (), whose crystal exhibits excimer fluorescence with unexpected high luminous efficiency (up to 80%) and long lifetime (163.75 ns), due pairwise anthracene stacking.
