Carbon quantum dots (CQDs) are novel nanostructures that have great potential as fluorescent markers due to their multi-fluorescence, down and up converted emission, resistance photobleaching, biocompatibility. Here, we report the synthesis of CQDs by submerged arc discharge in water method. We discuss method's simplicity, natural phases’ separation, scalability. The produced size distribution was range 1–5 nm. High-resolution transmission electron microscopy images fast Fourier...

Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) is a surface-sensitive technique that enhances by molecules adsorbed on rough metal surfaces. It known nanoparticles, especially gold and silver exhibit great SERS properties, which make them very attractive for the development of biosensors biocatalysts. On other hand, ecofriendly methods synthesis metallic nanostructures has become focus research in several countries, many microorganisms plants have already been used to biosynthesize nanostructures....

Transition-metal oxides such as WO3 are of interest because their photochromic, electrochromic, and photocatatytic properties, which promising for a variety applications in mirrors, windows, gas sensor technologies. These require detailed understanding the morphology, particle size, other material characteristics effective utilization implementation. We present correlation between powder determined from dynamic light scattering, bonding powders, showing that W–O–W/W═O integrated intensity...

According to the different phases at which titanium dioxide (TiO2) crystallizes, previous studies have shown that anatase is more efficient for photocatalysis than rutile. Nowadays, synergetic effect well-accepted between and rutile as having an in increasing performance photocatalysis. In present work, control over anatase/rutile ratio was performed three experimental steps. Initially, amorphous-anatase TiO2 powders were synthesized by sol-gel method. For crystallization of anatase,...

We demonstrate the formation of laser-induced periodic surface structures (LIPSS) in bismuth (Bi) thin films by irradiation with nanosecond laser pulses. report on and destruction LIPSS as a result delivered number pulses; both threshold were very well determined. Results show that obtained are perpendicular to polarization, their ripple periodicity is order wavelength. Although all experiments done ambient air, Raman micro-spectroscopy indicates constituted metallic bismuth, i. e. oxidation free.

Crystalline tin oxide was prepared by using the method of thermal decomposition stannic chloride pentahydrate. Decomposition process studied thermogravimetric analysis and differential scanning calorimetry. This precursor salt thermally treated at 800 °C during 4 hours to obtain a crystallite size similar reference sample. The obtained for as-prepared sample 25 nm. For comparison purposes Titania P25 from Degussa Co. (crystallite 30 nm) used as as-obtained characterized X-ray powder...
