Background: Several advanced bronchoscopy platforms are currently available, but the clinical data supporting their use vary. Electromagnetic navigation (ENB) remains dominant technology; it is limited by its reliance on preoperative computed tomography, which only approximates patient anatomy during procedure. Recently, ENB was enhanced with (1) addition of digital tomosynthesis-based correction, (2) improvements in planning algorithms, and (3)...

Background: Currently, there is significant variability in bronchoscopy training across pulmonary and critical care medicine (PCCM) programs nationwide, including procedural volume exposure to simulation training. Despite the increased number of interventional pulmonology (IP) fellowship United States, their direct educational impact on PCCM fellows' unknown. Objective: To identify quantify differences flexible competency among fellows from institutes with IP fellowships compared those...

Background
Lung nodule incidence is increasing. Many nodules require biopsy to discriminate between benign and malignant causes. The gold standard for minimally invasive biopsy, CT scan-guided transthoracic needle (CT-TTNB), has not been compared directly with navigational bronchoscopy, a method that recently seen rapid technological innovation associated improving diagnostic yield lower complication rates. Current estimates of the usefulness both methods are based largely on...

Abstract: It has been 30 years since the first commercial three-dimensional (3D) printer was available on market. The technological advancement of 3D printing far exceeded its implementation in medicine. application technology potential playing a major role within interventional pulmonology; specifically, management complex airway disease. Tailoring to patient-specific anatomical malformation caused by benign or malignant disease is challenge faced pulmonologists. Such cases often require...

Lung nodule evaluation accounts for a significant proportion of the practice pulmonary medicine, thoracic surgery, and interventional radiology. Bronchoscopic sampling small peripheral nodules frequently requires assistance an additional imaging or navigation tool: electromagnetic navigation, virtual bronchoscopy, fluoroscopic cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT), robot-assisted, etc.1–3 Except results from NAVIGATE study, majority data regarding is retrospective studies.4 CBCT assisted...

Practice patterns for the use of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) during high-risk airway interventions vary, and data are limited. There is little published data on women's experiences of having had an instrumental vaginal delivery (IVD). We conducted a postal survey women who IVD at our centre between November 2007 and January 2008, using semi-structured questionnaire to ascertain perceptions. The response rate was 63% (58/92).
