창작 플랫폼 포스타입이 팬덤의 맥락에서 2차 활동을 하는 팬 창작자들에게 활발히 이용되기 시작하면서 본래 오프라인 행사 등에서 실물로 판매되던 창작물은 온라인 플랫폼에서 디지털 콘텐츠의 형태로 판매되는 것이 주류가 되었다. 본 연구는 자신이 좋아하는 만화·애니메이션·게임 등의 창작물을 포스타입으로 유료 발행하고 있는 한국의 창작자들을 인터뷰하여 종래 놀이 문화로 여겨진 활동이 결제 플랫폼과 상호작용하며 어떻게 변화했는지, 팬덤 내 존재했던 암묵적인 비상업주의 규범이 오늘날의 구성원들에게 인식되고 있는지 분석했다. 포스타입에서 판매하는 창작자들은 순수한 팬인 것을 증명하기 위해 완전한 상업성과는 구별 지으려는 경향을 보이면서도 창작을 통한 금전적인 보상을 추구하고 있었다. 포스타입은 이들의 보상 추구에 정당성을 부여하고 판매자와 소비자의 분리를 가시화하여 자본주의화를 촉진하는 것으로 나타났다.
