Abstract The Physics Beyond Colliders initiative is an exploratory study aimed at exploiting the full scientific potential of CERN’s accelerator complex and infrastructures through projects complementary to LHC other possible future colliders. These will target fundamental physics questions in modern particle physics. This document presents status proposals presented framework Standard Model working group, explore their reach impact that CERN could have next 10–20 years on international landscape.
Physics Beyond Colliders is an exploratory study aimed at exploiting the full scientific potential of CERN's accelerator complex and its infrastructure in next two decades through projects complementary to LHC, HL-LHC other possible future colliders. These should target fundamental physics questions that are similar spirit those addressed by high-energy colliders, but require different types beams experiments. A kick-off workshop held September 2016 identified a number areas interest working...
Abstract In recent years, interest in complementary methods to high-energy-frontier colliders investigate the physics of elementary particles and forces has grown. This development is driven by so-far negative results searches for new with high masses at Large Hadron Collider, theoretical attempts account neutrino solve cosmological puzzles such as dark matter, energy matter–antimatter asymmetry Universe. Traditionally, CERN hosted a wealth accelerator non-accelerator projects below...
This report summarises the main findings of QCD Working Group in CERN Physics Beyond Colliders Study.
Abstract We introduce the tensor which maps Cartesian plane into tangent of surface. Then by analogy to polar decomposition theorem widely used in non‐linear theory thin shells is represented as composition surface stretch and 3D rotation fields. Left right decompositions are analysed. For each them position vector space established uniquely from metric curvature components three subsequent steps: 1) field found pure algebra, 2) obtained solving system linear first‐order PDEs, 3) follows...
We propose a rigorous variational formulation and an algorithm for solving the discretisation in time of evolution problem implicit standard material, terms bipotentials.
This report summarizes the work of "R-parity violation group" French Research Network (GDR) in Supersymmetry, concerning physics supersymmetric models without conservation R-parity at HERA, LEP, Tevatron and LHC limits on violating couplings from various processes. The includes a discussion recent searches HERA experiment, prospects for new experiments, review existing limits, also theoretically motivated alternatives to brief implications neutrino masses.
The application of deep sea low energy neutrino detection techniques to long baseline physics is investigated, with a focus on possible configuration based FNAL beam impinging detector hosted by the NEPTUNE/OOI submarine observatories offshore British Columbia.
This paper describes the motivations and main components of MEUST (Mediterranean Eurocentre for Underwater Sciences Technologies), a permanent deep sea cabled observatory being deployed off shore Toulon, France.
The International Linear Collider (ILC) is a next-generation experimental facility to explore fundamental laws of the Universe. importance electron-positron linear colliders as future has been long recognized by worldwide high energy physics community. A global design team, Global Design Efforts (GDE), was set up under Committee for Future Accelerators (ICFA) and coordination R&D activities ILC in 2005, Technical Report (TDR) completed 2013. ICFA then established Collaboration (LCC) Board...
