Mine slope landslides can lead to significant geological disasters. To investigate the impact of temperature cycling on internal mechanisms that trigger these disasters in weak interlayers with varying moisture contents, a THMC-B multi-field coupled simulation device was employed conduct shear creep tests carbonaceous mud shale contents across 16 cycles (ranging from −5 °C 65 °C). Based observed characteristics and related patterns, rheological constitutive model for established characterize...
Disruption of the mucosal epithelium during lentivirus infections permits translocation microbial products into circulation, causing immune activation and driving disease. Although liver directly filters blood from intestine is first line defense against gut-derived antigens, effects on are unclear. In livers normal macaques, minute levels bacterial were detectable, but increased 20-fold in simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV)–infected animals. Increased induced production chemoattractant...
This paper reports rational engineering of Trypanosoma rangeli sialidase to develop an effective enzyme for a potentially important type reactivity: production sialylated prebiotic glycans. The cruzi trans-sialidase and the homologous T. has previously been used investigate structural requirements activity. We observed that seven-amino-acid motif (197–203) at border substrate binding cleft. differs substantially in chemical properties substitution probability from sialidase, we hypothesised...
Despite the fact that majority of human pathogens are transmitted across mucosal surfaces, including oral mucosae, immunity is poorly understood. Furthermore, because normal flora cavity vast and significantly diverse, host must balance a complex system tolerance pathogen recognition. Due to rapid recognition response pathogens, innate immune system, natural killer (NK) cells, likely plays critical role in mediating this balance. Because logistical ethical restraints limit access significant...
The study was conducted to investigate the transcriptomic differences of hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis between Xinjiang Yili geese with high and low egg production find candidate genes regulating geese. 8 selected Geese or (4 for each group) were 3 years old, good health, under same feeding condition. High-throughput sequencing technology used sequence cDNA libraries hypothalami, pituitary glands, ovaries. data compared analyzed, transcripts significant identified analyzed...
We performed an in-depth characterization and comparison of the pediatric adult urinary glycomes using a nanoLC-MS/MS based glycomics method, which included normal healthy (1–10 years, n = 21) (21–50 22) individuals. A total 116 N-glycan compositions were identified, 46 them could be reproducibly quantified. quantitative comparisons glycan between different age sex groups. The results showed significant changes cohorts. N-glycome was found to contain higher level high-mannose (HM),...
The glycoprotein uromodulin (UMOD) is the most abundant protein in urine, and N-glycans are critical for many biological functions of UMOD. Comprehensive glycan profiling UMOD provides valuable information to understand exact mechanisms glycan-regulated functions. To perform comprehensive glycosylation analysis from urine samples with limited volumes, we developed a streamlined workflow that included isolation 5 mL 6 healthy adult donors (3 males 3 females) using highly sensitive...
Conotoxins (CTxs) are typically small peptides composed of 12-50 amino acid residues with 2-5 disulfide bridges. Most them potently and selectively target a wide variety ion channels membrane receptors. They highly valued as neuropharmacological probes in pharmaceutical development. In this work, novel α4/6-CTx named ViIA (RDCCSNPPCAHNNPDC-NH2) was identified from cDNA library the venom ducts Conus virgo (C. virgo). then synthesized chemically its connectivity 'C(1)-C(3), C(2)-C(4)'. Its...
A mutant Trypanosoma rangeli sialidase, Tr7, expressed in Pichia pastoris, exhibits significant trans-sialidase activity, and has been used for analytical-scale production of sialylated human milk oligosaccharides. Mass spectrometry-based site-specific N-glycoprofiling Tr7 showed that heterogeneous high-mannose type N-glycans were present at all the five potential N-linked glycosites. glycans predominantly neutral oligosaccharides with compositions Man(8-16)GlcNA(c2), but also mono-...
