The emergence of SARS-CoV-2 variant 20I/501Y.V1 (VOC-202012/1 or GR/501Y.V1) is concerning given its increased transmissibility. We reanalysed 11,916 PCR-positive tests (41% all positive tests) performed on 7-8 January 2021 in France. prevalence was 3.3% among nationwide and 6.9% the Paris region. Analysing recent rise 20I/501Y.V1, we estimate that, French context, 52-69% more transmissible than previously circulating lineages, depending modelling assumptions.

Over the last 20 years, Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection prevalence has dramatically increased among HIV-infected men who have sex with (MSM) in many countries worldwide. It is suspected that this increase primarily driven by sexual behaviours linked to blood exposure. Monitoring these crucial understand drivers of epidemic. This study assessed chronic HCV MSM attending gay venues and associated risk factors. screening factors were described. The cross-sectional survey PREVAGAY, based on...

Blood donation deferral for men who have sex with (MSM) in France was reduced from permanent to 12 months July 2016. To inform a further reduction of the period, an HIV risk assessment conducted two scenarios: S1, 4-month deferral; S2, only case more than one sexual partner (i.e., similar other blood donors).Baseline residual (RR) calculated 2016 December 2017, using Incidence Rate-Window Period method. The impact both scenarios on RR assessed data surveys MSM and donors, estimate 1) number...

BACKGROUND Blood donor selection, consisting of a pre‐donation questionnaire and interview, excludes potential donors who may be at risk transfusion‐transmissible infections. Assessing the reasons for noncompliance with blood selection criteria is important to maintain high level viral safety products. STUDY DESIGN AND METHODS An anonymous French online survey sample (Complidon) was conducted from September December 2017. Data were poststratified representative all donated between July 2016...

Abstract Sex between men is the most frequent mode of HIV transmission in industrialised countries. Monitoring risk behaviours among who have sex with (MSM) crucial, especially to understand drivers epidemic.
