Descending Necrotizing Mediastinitis (DNM) is an acute and often fatal infection that affects the neck mediastinum. DNM treatment consists of broad-spectrum antibiotics, early diagnosis, surgical debridement with multidisciplinary cooperation. However, owing to rarity complexity this disease, mortality rate high. This retrospective study analyzed a single-center experience managing in Chinese patients over last 10 years.

OBJECTIVE This study aimed to introduce a novel artificial intelligence (AI)–based robotic system for autonomous planning of spinal posterior decompression and verify its accuracy through cadaveric model. METHODS Seventeen vertebrae from 3 cadavers were included in the study. Three thoracic (T9–11) lumbar (L3–5) selected each cadaver. After obtaining CT data, independently planned laminectomy path based on AI algorithms before surgical procedure automatically performed during procedure. A...

Minimally invasive procedures are rapidly growing in popularity thanks to advancements medical robots, visual navigation and space registration techniques. This paper presents a precise efficient targeting method for robot-assisted percutaneous needle placement under C-arm fluoroscopy. In this method, special end-effector was constructed perform fluoroscopy calibration robot image-space simultaneously. addition, formulations were given compute the movement of evaluate accuracy using only one...

Percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) is a minimally invasive surgical technique in which polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) injected into the weakened vertebral body to strengthen it. However, this procedure associated with various complications, most common being cement leakage. Cardiac perforation caused by escape venous system another complication, rare but potentially life-threatening even if not treated promptly. Here, we report two elderly patients who developed cardiac veins following PVP....

Rationale: Aortic dissection is a life-threatening medical emergency associated with high morbidity and mortality. Preoperative mesenteric malperfusion increases the surgical risk mortality in patients type B aortic dissection. For DeBakey III involving most of thoracoabdominal aorta, endovascular treatment to improve true lumen perfusion may have limited benefits. Organ reperfusion on-time crucial. Patient concerns: A 38-year-old man was admitted sudden severe upper abdominal pain....

Complications related to upper gastrointestinal bleeding (UGIB) after acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and hyperkalemia-induced depression (MD) are not rare. However, severe UGIB caused by Mallory-Weiss syndrome (MWS) AMI in patients with MD red blood cell (RBC) transfusion has previously been reported. We report a case of 44-year-old male patient, presenting the anterior wall, who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). The patient developed two episodes hematemesis within 12 h...

Objective The purpose of this study is to discuss how surgical treatment influence prognosis and strategies Chest Aggressive Fibromatosis(AF). Methods The records 46 patients with chest AF treated at Peking Union Medical College Hospital(PUMCH) from 1982 2014 were retrospectively reviewed. Recurrence rates non-disease survival(NDS) times compared between R0, R1, R2 resection groups. Results 41 who underwent resections effectively followed up, the average follow-up period 125.56...
