Compared to other analytical methods, matrix‐assisted laser desorption ionization mass spectrometry (MALDI‐MS) presents several unique advantages for the structural characterization of degradation products carbohydrates. Our final goal is implement this technique as a high‐throughput platform, with aim exploring natural bio‐diversity discover new carbohydrate depolymerizing enzymes. In approach, variety carbohydrates will be used enzymes substrates and MALDI‐MS employed monitor...

ABSTRACT Favelines, benzocycloheptene diterpenes exclusively found in Cnidoscolus quercifolius , have shown promising anticancer properties, particularly phyllacanthone. Nevertheless, the isolation of these compounds remains challenging due to their similar polarity. The use centrifugal partition chromatography (CPC) has enabled quick and efficient purification phyllacanthone from C. crude extract with a yield 4.5% (w/w) purity 83%. Favelines‐enriched fractions were also obtained purified by...

With the increase in life expectancy, reducing visible signs of skin aging has become a major issue. A reduction collagen and hyaluronic acid synthesis by fibroblasts is feature aging. The green seaweed, Ulva intestinalis, an abundant rich source nutrients, especially proteins peptides. aim this study was to assess potential cosmetic properties protein fraction from intestinalis (PROT-1) containing 51% 22% polysaccharides, its enzymatic peptide hydrolysates on human dermal fibroblasts....

Ports are a good example of how coastal environments, gathering set diverse ecosystems, subjected to pollution factors coming from human activities both on land and at sea. Among them, trace element as copper represents major factor. Abundant in port ecosystem, is transported by runoff water results features (corrosion structures, fuel, anti-fouling products, etc.). The variegated scallop Mimachlamys varia common the Atlantic areas likely be directly influenced pollution, due its sessile...

Cathodic protection is widely used to protect metal structures from corrosion in marine environments using sacrificial galvanic anodes. These anodes, either Zinc, or preferentially nowadays Al-Zn-In alloys, are expected corrode instead of the structures. This leads release dissolved species, Zn2+, Al3+, and In3+, solid phases such as Al(OH)3. Few studies have been conducted on their effects organisms, they concluded that further investigations needed. We therefore evaluated Zn anodes oysters...

Brown seaweeds of the Fucus genus represent a rich source natural antiviral products. In this study, ceranoides hydroalcoholic extract (FCHE) was found to inhibit 74.2 ± 1.3% proteolytic activity free SARS-CoV-2 3CL protease (3CLpro), an enzyme that plays pivotal role in polyprotein processing during coronavirus replication and has been identified as relevant drug discovery target for SARS- MERS-CoVs infections. To purify identify 3CLpro ligands with potential inhibitory using one-step...

Immobilized enzyme reactors (IMERs) are critical tools for developing novel oligosaccharides based on the enzymatic catalysis of polysaccharides. In this paper, a glucuronan lyase from Peteryoungia rosettiformans was produced, purified, and then immobilized CIM® CDI disk cleaving glucuronan. The results showed that around 63.6% glycuronan lyases (800.9 μg) were disk. Vmax values did not significantly change (56.9 ± 4.7 μM∙min−1), while Km (0.310 0.075 g∙L−1) increased by 2.5 times. It is...
