Water-soluble phthalocyaninato zirconium(IV) and hafnium(IV) complexes have been synthesized for the first time. An increased solubility in comparison to PcZrCl 2 PcHfCl was caused by introduction of gallic, 1,8-dihydroxynaphthalene-3,6-disulfonic (chromotropic), 5-sulfosalicylic acids axial position.
