Importance Diagnosing solid lesions in the pancreas via endoscopic ultrasonographic (EUS) images is challenging. Artificial intelligence (AI) has potential to help with such diagnosis, but existing AI models focus solely on a single modality. Objective To advance clinical diagnosis of through developing multimodal model integrating both information and EUS images. Design, Setting, Participants In this randomized crossover trial conducted from January 1 June 30, 2023, 4 centers across China,...

Background: The aldehyde dehydrogenase 1 family member A3 (ALDH1A3) is a key enzyme associated with variety of metabolic processes, including glucose metabolism. We recently uncovered that metabolism played an essential role in promoting metastasis pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). As ALDH1A3 labels aggressive subtype PDAC, we hypothesized functionally promoted PDAC via its effect on Methods: Expression was detected human tissues by immunohistochemistry. knocked down or overexpressed...

We present a modified endoscopic hand-suturing (EHS) technique that effectively and safely closed an ileocecal defect following submucosal dissection (ESD) without requiring reinsertion of the endoscope. A 59-year-old woman underwent ESD for laterally spreading tumor measuring approximately 3.5 × 3.0 cm in ileocecum. The steps EHS procedure are detailed below ([Video 1Video 1]).

Background and Objectives: Pancreatic cystic neoplasms (PCNs) are being increasingly identified. Recent reports have described the utility of endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) in characterization PCNs. This study presents diagnostic value EUS Materials Methods: A total 108 patients (78 women 30 men; average age, 50 years) who were confirmed pathologically to PCNs analyzed retrospectively. Abstract Background and Aim Endoscopic ultrasound‐guided fine needle aspiration (EUS‐FNA) is the most established diagnostic method for pancreatic tissue. Rapid on‐site evaluation by a trained endoscopist (self‐ROSE) can improve accuracy. This research aimed to analyze application value of self‐ROSE EUS‐FNA in solid lesions. Methods A total 194 consecutive patients with lesions Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital were randomized 1:1 ratio or without this single‐center controlled trial. Before...

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have been reported to promote long-term cellular and organ transplant acceptance due their immunotherapeutic characteristics. Previous work from our lab using a rat allograft model has shown that systemic infusion of MSCs inhibited corneal rejection prolonged graft survival. Here, we further investigated the effects local administration in same animal model. Donor-derived were isolated cultured while grafts obtained Wistar rats transplanted into Lewis hosts....

Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) were a promising liquid biopsy for pancreatic cancer (PC) but circulate in low counts peripheral blood. We evaluated the diagnostic and prognostic values of portal vein (PoV) CTCs PC patients.PoV was aspirated under EUS guidance from 40 patients with suspected pancreaticobiliary cancers. Epithelial-mesenchymal-transition-related subtypes identified via immunofluorescence using EpCAM Twist antibodies. The performance PoV investigated by receiver-operating...
