In 10 men and nine women aged 20-23 years, we aimed to establish whether endogenous prostanoids synthesised by cyclooxygenase (COX) affect responses evoked in the finger α(1)- or α(2)-adrenoceptor agonists. Cutaneous red cell flux (cRCF) was recorded dorsal during iontophoresis of phenylephrine (PE) clonidine (0.5 mm, seven 0.1 mA pulses followed one 0.2 pulse: 30 s each at 60 intervals) before after COX inhibitor aspirin (600 mg p.o.). men, PE a biphasic mean increase/decrease cRCF but...
Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) increases risk of dysplasia and colorectal cancer. Advanced endoscopic techniques allow for the detection characterization IBD dysplastic lesions, but specialized training is not widely available. We aimed to develop validate an online platform improve colonic lesions in IBD: OPtical diagnosis Training Improve Characterization Bowel Disease (OPTIC-IBD).
<h3>Introduction</h3> Malnutrition results in prolonged inpatient stay, high readmission rates and poor clinical outcome.1–3 cirrhosis is a prognostic factor.4 Assessing nutritional status problematic as traditional methods of assessment are inaccurate.5Decompensated (DC) patients often require support but optimal timing intervention outcomes unclear.6 7 A regional audit assessing the prevalence malnutrition DC, management, impact on length...
