Constantly expressed genes are used as internal controls in relative quantification studies. Suitable for such studies have not yet been defined Pseudomonas aeruginosa. In this study, the ampC, fabD, proC, pbp-2, rpoD and rpoS of P. aeruginosa were compared terms expression stability by real-time quantitative RT-PCR. A total 23 strains with diverse resistance phenotypes studied. Stability among housekeeping was assessed on basis correlation coefficients, best-correlated pair accepted being...

We studied the beta-lactamases of an E. aerogenes isolate recovered from blood a two-year-old patient. The demonstrated disk-diffusion phenotype typical for AmpC-ESBL co-producer. Microbiology studies were performed according to standard protocols. resistance gene was identified by transconjugation and cloning experiments. By only narrow spectrum beta-lactamase (TEM-1) encoded on small plasmid transmitted. ESBL cloned expressed in coli host. Sequence analysis recombinant revealed blaSHV-12...

PER-1 type beta-lactamases were screened among ceftazidime-resistant clinical isolates of Acinetobacter spp. and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. A total 176 non-repetitive (84 92 P. aeruginosa) collected during a three month surveillance period. Isolates obtained from seven intensive care units university hospitals. All strains for bla(PER-1) alleles by PCR. Of the strains, 31% 55.4% aeruginosa positive genes, respectively.

Introduction: Oral diseases affect billions worldwide, with dental caries being a significant concern. Silver-copper nanoparticles (Ag-Cu NPs) synthesized from pitaya plant extract offer potential solution due to their antimicrobial properties. This study aimed evaluate the inhibitory effects of Ag-Cu NPs on Streptococcus mutans (S. mutans), major contributor caries. Methodology: were using green chemical method and characterized scanning electron microscope (SEM), ultraviolet-visible...

Immediately after the devastating earthquake in Turkey August 1999, an infectious disease surveillance system was established Kocaeli Province (the biggest area affected). This study mainly focused on diarrheal diseases. During a 33-day period, 1,468 stool cultures were processed. Diarrheal diseases increased step-by-step and later decreased to initial level by end of this period. Cases scattered throughout entire region, identified causes various, indicating multifocal increase. Of causes,...

Abstract It has been proposed that the virulence of nosocomial Staphylococcus infections associated with indwelling medical devices is related to ability bacterium colonise these materials by forming a biofilm composed multilayered cell clusters embedded in slime matrix. However, pathogenic role exopolysaccharide biofilms not fully understood. A new method was sought for differentiating structure from two closely bacterial strains, aureus and epidermidis. Using PCR it confirmed strains were...
