Abstract Increases of tropical cyclone intensity with global warming have been demonstrated by historical data studies and theory. This raises great concern regarding future changes in typhoon intensity. The present study addressed the problem to what extent supertyphoons will become intense climate late 21st century. Very high resolution downscale experiments using a cloud‐resolving model without convective parameterizations were performed for 30 most typhoons obtained from 20 km mesh...
Abstract Precipitation in excess of 100 mm h−1 Hiroshima, Japan, on 19 August 2014, caused a flash flood that resulted 75 deaths and destroyed 330 houses. This study examined the meteorological background this fatal flood. During event, considerable filamentary transport water vapor from Indochina Peninsula to Japanese islands occurred, forming so-called atmospheric river (AR). AR had deep structure with an amount free tropospheric moisture comparable boundary layer. Furthermore, cutoff low...

Abstract The dynamical response of rapidly developing extratropical cyclones to sea surface temperature (SST) variations over the western Kuroshio–Oyashio confluence (WKOC) region was examined by using regional cloud‐resolving simulations. This study specifically highlights an explosive cyclone that occurred in early February 2014 and includes a real SST experiment (CNTL run) two sensitivity experiments with warm cool anomalies WKOC (warm runs). results derived from CNTL run indicated...
Aquatic Coleoptera and Hemiptera insects primarily inhabit lentic waters, many of which are at risk extinction due to development, agriculture, invasive alien species. Environmental DNA (eDNA) analysis has recently emerged as a powerful tool for conducting comprehensive distribution surveys. The cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) universal primers conventionally used barcoding by non-specific amplification frequent failures. Primers in the mitochondrial 16S region that alleviate these...
Three hyperthermophilic sulfur-dependent heterotrophs were isolated from a shallow submarine hydrothermal system at an inlet of Kodakara-jima island, Kagoshima, Japan. The isolates grew 60 to 97 degrees C, with the optimum temperatures 85 90 C. Sensitivity rifampin and existence ether lipids indicated that are archaea. Partial sequencing genes coding for 16S rRNA showed three closely related genus Thermococcus. They on proteinaceous mixtures, such as yeast extract, Casamino Acids, purified...
Carotenoid derived volatiles are important fragrance compounds, which contribute to the scents of flowers from diverse taxa. A famous example is represented by Osmanthus fragrans where apocarotenoids account for more than 20% all volatiles. In recent years, bio-degradation carotenoids has been shown be an route formation. Here, we report on contribution O. carotenoid cleavage dioxygenase 1 synthesis two predominant C(13)-apocarotenoids, α- and β-ionone, α-and β-carotene, respectively.
Abstract Intense tropical cyclones (TCs) sometimes cause huge disasters, so it is imperative to explore the impacts of climate change on such TCs. Therefore, authors conducted numerical simulations most destructive historical TC in Japanese history, Typhoon Vera (1959), current and a global warming climate. The used four nonhydrostatic models with horizontal resolution 5 km: cloud-resolving storm simulator, fifth-generation Pennsylvania State University–National Center for Atmospheric...
