This study presents a sustainable approach to activated carbon production from olive stones in comparison commercial ones, using various activating agents such as H3PO4, KOH, and ZnCl2, for enhancing the adsorption properties versatile capability remove range of pollutants including copper ion, methylene blue, 2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid aqueous solutions. The performances carbons across varying conditions pollutant concentrations, temperatures, pH levels, adsorbent amounts were tested....
The removal of various phenoxyalkanoic acid herbicides as single solutes (2,4-D; 2,4-DP; 2,4-DB; 2,4,5-T; MCPA) from aqueous solutions were studied by using biodegradable poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL). A comparative study was achieved powdered and granular activated carbon an adsorbent in a batch system. equilibrium at 25, 35, 45°C. results correlated Freundlich Langmuir, Temkin, Redlich-Peterson, Sips equations. To determine the best fit isotherm, three error analysis methods used to evaluate...
Abstract Ozonolyses of O ‐methyloximes ( 4 ) 5‐, 6‐ and 7‐membered cycloketones in the presence esters trifluoroacetic acid 5 or acyl cyanides 6 afforded ozonides types 7 8 , respectively, which are formally derived from vinyl ethers cyanides. Similarly, ozonolysis ‐methylated oxime acetone 9 2‐naphthaldehyde 11 gave corresponding 10 12 respectively.
Chemical and microbiological aspects were investigated with regard to biological denitrification of drinking water using the seaweed Gracilaria verrucosa as carbon energy substrate physical support for microbial flora in semibatch, fixed-bed reactors. Complete removal nitrate (100 mg/L) was readily achieved without accumulation nitrite. Microbiological analysis indicated that effluent reactor contained high numbers bacteria (>10(6)/mL total count). Among 44 bacterial strains isolated...
Abstract The biodegradable synthetic polymer poly(ε‐caprolactone) was investigated as a substrate for denitrification. This may also act an adsorbent two pesticides, i. e., atrazine and simazine, from water. equilibrium studied at 25, 35 45°C. results were correlated using the Langmuir Freundlich adsorption models. total capacities of defined experimental data (10.98 mg g –1 ) simazine (27.54 ). effect temperature on model constants thermodynamics investigated. evaluation development...
The size distributions of microcapsules are important in determining the surface area over which contents released. distribution is generally not normal arournd mean, but biased toward smaller capsule sizes, forming a mode around some characteristic diameter. In order to assess factors effective this drop size, analyses were carried out photographically at each stage complex coacervation process. addition, emulsion investigated as function stirring rate, time and phase ratio. results agreed...
Cellulose fibers were extracted from the recycled Tetra Pak aseptic food package wastes, and high value-added cellulose nanocrystals (CNC) produced by acidic hydrolysis. At optimum H2SO4 concentration of 25% w, whiteness index CNC obtained at 30 °C for min was 84.42%, while it 56.00% 50 60 CNC. The effects temperature time on hydrolysis yield optimized Central Composite Design maximum determined condition where lowest. physical structural properties different CNCs investigated using several...
In the industrial world there is growing evidence of ground water contamination.Environmentally relevant bio-tests provide information on initial levels damage and disasters assist in developing precautionary measures strategies for environment.Plant toxicity tests are not only quick inexpensive relative to more sophisticated chemical analyses, but also require less maintenance than other which use organisms. In this research, garden cress seeds (Lepidium sativum L) were exposed different...
In this research we investigated the ability of cress seeds (Lepidium sativum L.) to grow in an aqueous media with metal toxicities. The toxicity Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb, and Zn ions were examined blank, nitrate (N–NO3) –, phosphate (KH2PO4) saline (NaCl)–contaminated media. acute tested blank according their IC50 (50% inhibitory concentration) values increased on order Pb<Fe<Co<Zn<Mn<Cr<Cu<Cd<Ni . effect different contaminations root growth along separate combined effects was...
Abstract In this study, the adsorption performances of ZnCl2, KOH and H3PO4 impregnated activated carbons derived from olive stones in removal Rhodamine B dye aqueous solution were investigated. The equilibrium time was determined to be 6 hours, highest capacity achieved by ZnCl2 impregnation (190.67 mg g-1) followed (118.26 g-1), (49.81 crude (21.57 compared commercial powdered carbon (254.30 g-1). While different pH values (2-10) did not exhibit much effect, 4 most efficient one. sorption...
Abstract Only a small percent of the formaldehyde added to coacervation solution is actually utilized for crosslinking gelatin and gum arabic in dense coacervate phase, rest remaining colloid‐poor solution. It was aimed use this polymerization reaction with urea form composite film gelatin‐gum within supramolecular structure urea‐formaldehyde resin. Part reacts used crosslinking, opening up polymer chains, part free resin phase grafted onto coacervated macromolecules. The physical properties...
We investigated the ground water quality of a typical agricultural area Agean Region, in Izmir Districts, concerning nitrate and pesticide pollution. Elevated concentrations drinking present potential risk to public health. The was sampled from wells that are used as local supply for irrigation farms. results indicate these areas has started be contaminated by because fertilizer use. At one location, maximum contamination levels pesticides were exceeded three (propargit, endosulfan, fenitrothion).
In this study the effect of some additives including Alumina, B4C and different types SiC on glossiness, impact resistance, pencil hardness, conical bent corrosion, humidity chemical resistance non-stick coatings were studied. The results revealed that glossiness decrease by addition but overall grow adding these substances among which boron carbide additive had best coating general performance.
