Purpose To evaluate the retinal thickness of macula in healthy subjects with different axial lengths. Methods Included were 203 (116 males and 87 females). The length eyes ranged from 22.68 to 30.22 mm. Four optical coherence tomograms obtained a radial spoke pattern centered on central fovea. Retinal was calculated inner outer boundaries. average three circular areas surrounding fovea (350, 1,850, 2,850 μm diameter) determined. Results not significantly correlated eye (P = 0.10, P 0.39,...
In the present study, we investigated effects of supplemental lighting (SL) with white, red, and blue light-emitting diodes (LEDs) on yield quality tomato grown under single-truss production system (STTPS). SL was applied for 28 days during rapid fruit development stage. Based same power consumption, light treatments white red LEDs increased fresh by 12 14%, dry 16 compared control (without SL), respectively. unit photons emitted, showed high efficiency as in increasing yield, followed ones....
Background We undertook a study to evaluate the clinical relevance of miR-92a in plasma obtained from non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) patients, because miR-17-92 polycistronic miRNA cluster plays crucial role lymphomagenesis and affects neo-angiogenesis. Methodology/Principal Findings Plasma values NHL were extremely low (<5%), compared with healthy subjects (P<.0001), irrespective sub-type. The very level increased complete response (CR) phase but did not reach normal range, was lower again...
We compared the International Prognostic Scoring System-Revised (IPSS-R) to System-Molecular (IPSS-M) in 30 patients with myelodysplastic neoplasms (MDS) newly diagnosed at our institution from January 2021 February 2023. Molecular analysis was performed by myeloid panel. The median age 66 years (range: 35-80), and classifications were MDS-LB (n=18), MDS IB-1 (n=1), IB-2 (n=2), MDS-SF3B1 MDS-biTP53 MN-pCT (n=6). Each patient had 0 8 (median 1) mutations. most frequently detected mutation...
This study assesses the safety and efficacy of hepatocyte-like cell (HLC) infusion therapy derived from human embryonic stem cells as bridging for neonatal-onset urea cycle disorders (UCD). The research includes both preclinical clinical evaluations to determine feasibility HLC a therapeutic option safer pediatric liver transplantation. Preclinical studies were conducted validate safety, biodistribution, ammonia metabolism capabilities HLCs using SCID mice models UCD extensive animal...
The Japan Adult Leukemia Study Group (JALSG) Ph+ALL202 study reported a high complete remission (CR) rate for Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia (Ph+ALL) patients treated with imatinib-combined chemotherapy. However, the long-term treatment efficacy remains uncertain. Here, we report final analysis of JALSG study. outcomes were compared those ALL93 and ALL97 studies, which conducted in pre-imatinib era. Ninety-nine newly diagnosed Ph+ALL enrolled (median age, 45...
Abstract Objectives This study reports long‐term outcomes from the open‐label extension (OLE) period of Phase I/II COMPOSER trial (NCT03157635) that evaluated crovalimab in patients with paroxysmal nocturnal haemoglobinuria, who were treatment‐naive or switched eculizumab at enrolment. Methods consists four sequential parts followed by OLE. The primary OLE objective was to assess safety, a secondary pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. Exploratory efficacy endpoints included change lactate...
Abstract Purpose: The use of oncolytic herpes simplex virus type 1 is a promising stategy for cancer treatment. We constructed vector G47Δ by deleting the α47 gene and promoter region US11 from G207. now report studies demonstrating potential as therapeutic modality prostate in combination with androgen ablation. Experimental Design: cytopathic activities at low multiplicities infection was tested human cell lines LNCaP, PC-3, DU145 vitro. Two androgen-dependent mouse s.c. tumor models,...
Viral infections and their occult reactivation occasionally cause not only organ damage, but also exacerbation of acute graft-versus-host disease (aGVHD), which may increase transplantation-related mortality synergistically. To determine correlations between viral complications, we performed various screening tests on the 30th day after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT), assessed clinical implications.Between August 2007 January 2013, 49 patients (37 men, 12 women)...
The collection of low resistive particulate matter (PM) generated from marine and automobile diesel engines have been known to be difficult by conventional electrostatic precipitators (ESPs). efficiency for three types ESPs, namely, the dc-energized ESP, trapezoidal-waveform-energized ESP (TW ESP), electrohydrodynamically assisted (EHD ESP) were investigated. Low PMs are detached plate repulsion force caused induction charge resulting in particle reentrainment. EHD utilizes ionic wind...
The single truss tomato production system (STTPS) was used to grow plants at a density of 14.3 plants·m−2 for increasing the yield in Japan. We applied supplemental lighting within canopy different development stages identify most sensitive stage which will effectively increase and quality fruits. Fluorescent lamps were supply intra-canopy (5:00–21:00) during anthesis (stage 1), rapid fruit 2), ripening 3), from initial red-ripe (whole stage), respectively. Supplemental 2 whole significantly...
Background. As assessed by flow cytometry, the increase in hydrogen peroxide individual neutrophils from old volunteers was significantly greater than young volunteers. To explain discrepancy previous reports that showed reduced superoxide generation with age and our finding, we measured kinetics of antioxidative enzymes. Methods. Neutrophils were obtained (ages 21–34) over 65) The following stimulation formyl peptide cytometry using dihydrorhodamine 123. enzyme determined best fit curve...
The collection of low-resistivity particles is difficult by the conventional electrostatic precipitators (ESPs). diesel engine are detached from a plate, which causes dust re-entrainment, resulting in poor efficiency. new electrohydrodynamically (EHD)-assisted ESP (EHD ESP) was developed to minimize re-entrainment. EHD utilizes ionic wind, combined with force transport charged effectively into pocket zone attached plate. zones designed as zero field, i.e., no repulsion acting on induction...
Drug – target drug complexes (DTDCs) are phenomena newly observed in patients who switch from the complement component 5 (C5) inhibitor eculizumab to crovalimab, a novel, anti‐C5 antibody development for paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH), because these agents bind different C5 epitopes. In Part 3 of four‐part, phase I/II COMPOSER study, 19 with PNH switching received 1,000‐mg crovalimab intravenously, then subcutaneous maintenance doses Day 8 (680 mg every 4 weeks (q4w), 340 2 weeks,...
A study to evaluate WT1 mRNA expression levels in peripheral blood (PB) and bone marrow aspirate (BM) was conducted 172 patients, including 115 with myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), Japan. The level of evaluated according the French-American-British (FAB) World Health Organization (WHO) classifications (2001, 2008) using International Prognostic Scoring System WHO scales. PB BM were well correlated (r = 0.85), they tended increase disease stage progression those at higher risk leukemic...
