ABSTRACT The biofilm structure of Helicobacter pylori is known to enhance its capabilities for antimicrobial resistance. This study aims investigate the role flagellar hook length control protein gene fliK in formation H. . Homologous recombination was employed knock out NCTC 11637 strain. flagella were observed using transmission electron microscopy (TEM), whereas motility and growth examined through semi-solid agar assays curve analyses, respectively. bacterial constituents visualized...

Tuberculosis (TB), predominantly caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) infection, remains a prominent global health challenge. Macrophages are the frontline defense against MTB, relying on autophagy for intracellular bacterial clearance. However, MTB can combat and evade autophagy, it influences macrophage polarization, facilitating immune evasion promoting infection. We previously found that heparin-binding hemagglutinin (HBHA) inhibits in A549 cells; however, its role polarization unclear.

Mulberry granules (MLD) is a traditional Chinese medicine prescription that has been used in the treatment of diabetes for many years. Recently, we found MLD protected heart from diabetes-associated cardiomyopathy when it was to treat diabetes. However, beneficial effects and possible mechanism remain unknown. To elucidate these effects, an experimental myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (MI/R) injury model rats this study. Male C57BL/6 mice were injected with streptozotocin induce The...

Rapid increase in resistance of Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) has hindered antibiotics-based eradication efforts worldwide and raises the need for additional approaches. Here, we investigate role zinc-based compounds inhibiting H. growth modulating antibiotic sensitivities, interrogate their downstream transcriptomic changes, highlight potential mechanism driving observed effects. We showed that zinc acetate inhibited increased sensitivity to levofloxacin. Transcriptomic profiling distinct...

Myocardial infarction (MI) has likely contributed to the increased prevalence of heart failure (HF). As a result reduced cardiac function, splanchnic blood flow decreases, causing ischemia in villi and damage intestinal barrier. The induction heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) could prevent, or lessen effects stress inflammation. Thus, effect mechanism thereof HO-1 on intestines rats with HF was investigated.Male Wistar through ligation left coronary artery were identified an ventricular ejection...
