Artificial neural networks apply non-linear statistics to pattern recognition problems. One such problem is acute myocardial infarction (AMI), a diagnosis which, in patient presenting as an emergency, can be difficult confirm. We report here prospective comparison of the diagnostic accuracy network and that physicians, on same patients with suspected AMI.Emergency department physicians who evaluated 1070 18 years or older emergency teaching hospital California, USA anterior chest pain...

AIM:To evaluate the utility of serum and urine metabolomic analysis in diagnosing monitoring inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). METHODS:Serum samples were collected from 24 patients with ulcerative colitis (UC), 19 Crohn's disease (CD) 17 healthy controls. The activity UC was assessed Simple Clinical Colitis Activity Index, while CD determined using Harvey-Bradshaw Index. The performed proton nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. All spectra exported to Matlab for preprocessing which...

Critical leg ischemia (CLI) complicated by diabetes mellitus (DM), which is a very common and dangerous disease, represents the ultimate stage of peripheral arterial disease. Patients are treated with antiplatelet drugs, statins limb revascularization, but significant number patients not candidate for revascularization. Literature shows that in such cases, gene therapy could be perfect therapeutic option. The aim our study was to evaluate efficacy double vascular endothelial growth...

One of the underestimated causes chronic pelvic pain (CPP) in women may be congestion syndrome (PCS) that is defined as presence varicose ovarian and veins associated with region pelvis. This present longer than 6 months intensifies prolonged standing, coitus menstruation. The disease constitutes a diagnostic well therapeutic problem, thus posing challenge for clinician. Transcatheter vein embolization might safe effective option PCS treatment. The objective this study was to evaluate...

Our study was designed to investigate the safety and efficacy of combined autologous bone marrow mononuclear cell (MNC) gene therapy in comparison conventional drug patients with critical limb ischemia (CLI).Thirty-two CLI persisting for 12-48 months (average time 27.5 months) were randomized into 2 groups, each group consisting 16 patients. In first group, administration MNC vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) plasmid performed. The from second treated pharmacologically...

One of the most serious problems in people with diabetes is diabetic foot syndrome. Due to peripheral location atherosclerotic lesions arterial system lower extremities, endovascular treatment plays a dominant role. However, carrying out these procedures not always possible and does bring expected results. Gene therapy, which stimulates angiogenesis, improves only inflow from proximal limb but also blood redistribution individual angiosomes. encouraging results sequential consisting...

Background: We performed gene therapy for critical limb ischemia in thromboangiitis obliterans (TAO) by the intramuscular administration of plasmids vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF 165) with or without bone marrow-derived stem cells. Methods: The 21 patients were randomly assigned to three groups: A—with dual therapy, cells and plasmid; B—plasmid only; C—control group, where received injections saline. Serum VEGF levels, ankle–brachial index (ABI), transcutaneous oxygen pressure...

Iatrogenic vascular injuries from external fixation in orthopaedics and traumatology are frequent. Three cases of after the treatment with Ilizarov fixators were treated at our institution. These include two pseudoaneurysms one case acute ischaemia lower limb. Two patients became symptomatic only removal fixator. In all cases, diagnosis was made by color flow duplex sonography. All needed surgical repair.

Due to its anatomical location the popliteal artery is exposed injury during surgical procedures in region of knee joint, particular high-level corrective osteotomies proximal tibial epiphysis. Nevertheless, posttraumatic (iatrogenic) pseudoaneurysm constitutes a very rare complication procedure. Only few reports such have been published and they were usually connected with lateral osteotomy - accidents after medial are seldom. The we report was observed 52-year-old female patient portion...
