Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is a catastrophic disease with little effective therapy, likely due to the limited understanding of mechanisms underlying AAA development and progression. ATF3 (activating transcription factor 3) has been increasingly recognized as key regulator cardiovascular diseases. However, role in progression remains elusive.

We have developed a nanopore sensing approach for the selective detection of 8-oxo-2′-deoxyguanosine (8-oxoG) in single-stranded DNA. First, 1,12-dodecanediamine is coupled with 8-oxoG-containing DNA molecules high yield which leaves free amine group subsequent attaching an adamantane moiety. After incubation cucurbit[7]uril, host–guest complex-modified hybrid translocated through α-hemolysin nanopore. Highly characteristic events can be recorded and used to quantify 8-oxoG-DNA content...

Objective: AIP1 expression is downregulated in human atherosclerotic plaques and global deletion of mice exacerbates atherosclerosis ApoE-KO mouse models. However, the direct role endothelium, vascular remodeling associated diseases has not been determined. Approach Results: We used endothelial cell (EC)-specific AIP1-deficient (AIP1-ECKO) to define intima-media thickening a carotid artery ligation model characterized by both neointimal hyperplasia inward vessel remodeling. Compared WT...

Objective: Mitochondrial thioredoxin 2 (Trx2) is a vital mitochondrial redox protein that mediates normal thiol reduction and provides electrons to peroxiredoxin 3 (Prx3) scavenge H2O2 in mitochondria. It has been widely reported Trx2 deletion cells or mice generates massive reactive oxygen species (ROS) which have implicated many pathological processes. On the contrary, how ROS regulate expression activity remains be elucidated. Approach Results: Here we show excess induce endothelial cell...

Abstract Background: Serrated polyps (SP) is associated with an increased risk of colorectal cancer. Patients SP history tend to have recurrence. However, the factors for metachronous (MP) in those patients are not well established. Methods: Data colonoscopy were retrospectively reviewed from October 2012 2021. The pathology database, electronic medical records and telephone follow-up data also observed. Results: A total 906 studied which consisted 278 MPs 628 without. Multiplicity (OR...

Oxidative stress-induced inflammation is a major pathogenic mechanism in sepsis-associated encephalopathy (SAE). We hypothesized that regulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) by the neuropeptide orexin-A could prevent SAE-induced oxidative stress and inflammation. Therefore, aim this study was to investigate effects on SAE mice.

Abstract Dysregulated inflammation is closely associated with increased mortality in sepsis. Platelets have emerged as key inflammatory cells implicated the pathology of sepsis, including development thrombosis, thrombocytopenia, and neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs). Platelet’s contributions to rapid clinical deterioration dysregulated sepsis not been defined. In our cohort, incidence thrombocytopathy excessive cytokines released patients severe were significantly increased. Platelet...
