When Ga or Al atoms are evaporated on a clean GaAs surface in an As-free atmosphere, they quite mobile and migrate very rapidly along the even at low temperatures. This characteristic utilized for growing high-quality AlAs layers temperatures by alternately supplying As 4 molecules to substrate. Applying this method, AlAs–GaAs quantum well structures with reasonable photoluminescence characteristics grown 200°C 300°C, respectively.

Surface migration is effectively enhanced by evaporating Ga or Al atoms onto a clean GaAs surface under an As-free low As pressure atmosphere. This characteristic was utilized alternately supplying and/or and A S 4 to the substrate for growing atomically-flat GaAs-AlGaAs heterointerfaces, also high-quality AlGaAs layers at very temperatures. The characteristics of adatoms have been investigated through reflection high-energy electron diffraction measurements. It found that different growth...

Low-energy electron microscopy (LEEM) was used to measure the reflectivity of low-energy electrons from graphitized $\mathrm{SiC}(0001)$. The shows distinct quantized oscillations as a function energy and graphite thickness. Conduction bands in thin films form discrete levels whose wave vectors are normal surface. Resonance incident with these conduction band states enhances transmit through film into $\mathrm{SiC}$ substrate, resulting dips reflectivity. dip positions well explained using...

This paper introduces a new approach to measure the muon magnetic moment anomaly |$a_{\mu} = (g-2)/2$| and electric dipole (EDM) |$d_{\mu}$| at J-PARC facility. The goal of our experiment is |$a_{\mu}$| using an independent method with factor 10 lower momentum, 20 smaller diameter storage-ring solenoid compared previous ongoing |$g-2$| experiments unprecedented quality storage field. Additional significant differences from present experimental include 1000 transverse emittance beam...

In conventional computers, wiring between transistors is required to enable the execution of Boolean logic functions. This has resulted in processors which billions are physically interconnected, limits integration densities, gives rise huge power consumption and restricts processing speeds. A method eliminate amongst by condensing into a single active element thus highly desirable. Here, we demonstrate novel architecture using only electromechanical parametric resonator multiple channels...

An electromechanical resonator harboring an atomlike spectrum of discrete mechanical vibrations, namely, phonon modes, has been developed. A purely three-mode system becomes available in the atom which energy difference two higher modes is resonant with a long-lived lower mode. Our measurements reveal that even incoherent input into mode results coherent emission exhibits all hallmarks lasing process reminiscent Brillouin lasing.

Abstract Macroscopic realism is the name for a class of modifications to quantum theory that allow macroscopic objects be described in measurement-independent manner, while largely preserving fully mechanical description microscopic world. Objective collapse theories are examples which aim solve measurement problem through modified dynamical laws. Whether such describe nature, however, not known. Here we and implement an experimental protocol capable constraining this class, more noise...

Strain relaxation in InAs/GaAs(111)A heteroepitaxy has been studied on the atomic scale by scanning tunneling microscopy. The coalescence of small islands and formation a dislocation network are identified at critical layer thickness (CLT), no three-dimensional growth is observed, even beyond CLT. displacement around threading segments strain fields induced misfit dislocations both identified. measured density indicates that not fully relaxed CLT, but instead gradually relieved with additional InAs.
