We present the final report from a series of precision measurements muon anomalous magnetic moment, ${a}_{\ensuremath{\mu}}=(g\ensuremath{-}2)/2$. The details experimental method, apparatus, data taking, and analysis are summarized. Data obtained at Brookhaven National Laboratory, using nearly equal samples positive negative muons, were used to deduce ${a}_{\ensuremath{\mu}}(\mathrm{\text{Expt}})=11659208.0(5.4)(3.3)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}10}$, where...

The anomalous magnetic moment of the negative muon has been measured to a precision 0.7 ppm (ppm) at Brookhaven Alternating Gradient Synchrotron. This result is based on data collected in 2001, and over an order magnitude more precise than previous measurement for muon. a(mu(-))=11 659 214(8)(3) x 10(-10) (0.7 ppm), where first uncertainty statistical second systematic, consistent with measurements anomaly positive average a(mu)(exp)=11 208(6) (0.5 ppm).
Aromatic amines are well known as occupational carcinogens and found in cooked foods, tobacco smoke, synthetic fuels, agricultural chemicals. For the primary arylamines, metabolic N-oxidation by hepatic cytochromes P-450 is generally regarded an initial activation step leading to carcinogenesis. The of 4-aminobiphenyl, 2-naphthylamine, several heterocyclic has been shown recently be catalyzed rat cytochrome P-450ISF-G its human ortholog, P-450PA. We now report that microsomal caffeine...
A precise measurement of the anomalous g value, a(mu) = (g-2)/2, for positive muon has been made at Brookhaven Alternating Gradient Synchrotron. The result a(mu+) 11 659 202(14) (6) x 10(-10) (1.3 ppm) is in good agreement with previous measurements and an error one third that combined data. current theoretical value from standard model a(mu)(SM) 159.6(6.7) (0.57 a(mu)(exp) - 43(16) which world average experimental value.
The human P450III family has been shown to be composed of at least four members, P450IIIA3 (HLp), P450IIIA4 (P450NF), P450IIIA5 (HLp3), and P450IIIA6 (HLp2). Due the lack probes that specifically recognize individual members this family, little is known about their relative expression. We prepared a form-specific antibody by immunoabsorption anti-P450IIIA5 IgG against Sepharose 4B upon which microsomes did not contain or purified had bound. Immunoblot analyses demonstrated was expressed...
The $\bar{K}N$ system at threshold is a sensitive testing ground for low energy QCD, especially the explicit chiral symmetry breaking. Therefore, we have measured $K$-series x rays of kaonic hydrogen atoms DA$\Phi$NE electron-positron collider Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati, and determined most precise values strong-interaction energy-level shift width $1s$ atomic state. As x-ray detectors, used large-area silicon drift detectors having excellent timing resolution, which were developed...
Three independent searches for an electric dipole moment (EDM) of the positive and negative muons have been performed, using spin precession data from muon g-2 storage ring at Brookhaven National Laboratory. Details on experimental apparatus three analyses are presented. Since individual results muon, as well combined result, d=-0.1(0.9)E-19 e-cm, all consistent with zero, we set a new EDM limit, |d| < 1.9E-19 e-cm (95% C.L.). This represents factor 5 improvement over previous best limit EDM.
This paper introduces a new approach to measure the muon magnetic moment anomaly |$a_{\mu} = (g-2)/2$| and electric dipole (EDM) |$d_{\mu}$| at J-PARC facility. The goal of our experiment is |$a_{\mu}$| using an independent method with factor 10 lower momentum, 20 smaller diameter storage-ring solenoid compared previous ongoing |$g-2$| experiments unprecedented quality storage field. Additional significant differences from present experimental include 1000 transverse emittance beam...
A higher precision measurement of the anomalous g value, a(mu)=(g-2)/2, for positive muon has been made at Brookhaven Alternating Gradient Synchrotron, based on data collected in year 2000. The result a(mu(+))=11 659 204(7)(5)x10(-10) (0.7 ppm) is good agreement with previous measurements and an error about one-half that combined data. present world average experimental value a(mu)(expt)=11 203(8)x10(-10) ppm).
A series of 21 different 4-substituted 2,6-dimethyl-3-(alkoxycarbonyl)-1,4-dihydropyridines was considered with regard to oxidation pyridine derivatives by human liver microsomal cytochrome P-450 (P-450). Antibodies raised against IIIA4 inhibited the nifedipine and felodipine same extent, as did cimetidine mechanism-based inactivator gestodene. Gestodene approximately 10(3) times more effective an inhibitor than cimetidine, on a molar basis. When rates 1,4-dihydropyridines were compared each...
We have measured the shift and width of kaonic hydrogen $1s$ state due to $\overline{K}N$ strong interaction. observed, for first time, distinct $K$-series x rays with good signal-to-noise ratio in energy spectrum. The DEAR (DAPhiNE exotic atom research) experiment measured the energy of x rays emitted in transitions to ground state kaonic hydrogen. values for shift epsilon and width Gamma 1s due K(-)p strong interaction are epsilon(1s)=-193 +/- 37 (stat) 6 (syst) eV Gamma(1s)=249 111 30 eV, most precise yet obtained. pattern hydrogen K-series lines, K(alpha), K(beta), K(gamma), was disentangled first time.
Delayed annihilation of antiprotons stopped in liquid helium has been observed, revealing that about 3.6% are trapped long-lived metastable states. No delayed component was found either nitrogen or argon. The observed time distribution shows fast-decaying components followed by a major part with decay constant 3 \ensuremath{\mu}sec.

Selenoprotein P (SeP) functions as a selenium (Se)-supply protein. SeP is identified hepatokine, promoting insulin resistance in type 2 diabetes. Thus, the suppression of Se-supply activity might improve glucose metabolism. Here, we develop an anti-human monoclonal antibody AE2 with neutralizing against SeP. Administration to mice significantly improves intolerance and that are induced by human administration. Furthermore, excess administration decreases pancreas levels high glucose-induced...
Fear conditioning is a form of learning essential for animal survival and used as behavioral paradigm to study the mechanisms memory. In mammals, amygdala plays crucial role in fear conditioning. teleost, medial zone dorsal telencephalon (Dm) has been postulated be homolog mammalian by anatomical ablation studies, showing conditioned avoidance response. However, neuronal populations required response via Dm have not functionally or genetically defined. We aimed identify population through...
Deeply bound 1s states of pi(-) in (115,119,123)Sn were preferentially observed using the Sn(d,3He) pion-transfer reaction under recoil-free condition. The binding energies and widths precisely determined used to deduce isovector parameter s-wave pion-nucleus potential be b1=-(0.115+/-0.007)m(-1)(pi). enhancement |b(1)| over free piN value (b(free)1/b1=0.78+/-0.05) indicates a reduction chiral order parameter, f*pi(rho)2/f2pi approximately 0.64, at normal nuclear density, rho=rho(0).
