Proton radii of ^{12-19}C densities derived from first accurate charge changing cross section measurements at 900A MeV with a carbon target are reported. A thick neutron surface evolves ∼0.5 fm in ^{15}C to ∼1 ^{19}C. The halo radius ^{19}C is found be 6.4±0.7 as large ^{11}Li. Ab initio calculations based on chiral nucleon-nucleon and three-nucleon forces reproduce the well.

Deeply bound 1s states of pi(-) in (115,119,123)Sn were preferentially observed using the Sn(d,3He) pion-transfer reaction under recoil-free condition. The binding energies and widths precisely determined used to deduce isovector parameter s-wave pion-nucleus potential be b1=-(0.115+/-0.007)m(-1)(pi). enhancement |b(1)| over free piN value (b(free)1/b1=0.78+/-0.05) indicates a reduction chiral order parameter, f*pi(rho)2/f2pi approximately 0.64, at normal nuclear density, rho=rho(0).

We report on time-modulated two-body weak decays observed in the orbital electron capture of hydrogen-like 140Pr59+ and 142Pm60+ ions coasting an ion storage ring. Using non-destructive single ion, time-resolved Schottky mass spectrometry we found that expected exponential decay is modulated time with a modulation period about 7 seconds for both systems. Tentatively this observation attributed to coherent superposition finite eigenstates neutrinos from into final state.
