Abstract Electron diffraction patterns of highly oriented poly( p ‐phenylene vinylene) films obtained by the soluble polymeric precursor route are interpreted on basis a monoclinic unit cell containing two monomer units: c (chain axis) = 0.658 nm, 0.790 b 0.605 α ≃ 123°. The molecules nearly perfectly along stretching direction but exhibit partial axial translational disorder.
Results are presented for F2d/F2p and Rd − Rp from simultaneous measurements of deep inelastic muon scattering on hydrogen deuterium targets, at 90, 120, 200 280 GeV.
