Experimental results obtained at the CERN Super Proton Synchrotron on structure-function ratio F2n/F2p in kinematic range 0.004<x<0.8 and 0.4<Q2<190 GeV2, together with structure function F2d determined from a fit to published data, are used derive difference F2p(x)-F2n(x). The value of Gottfried sum F(F2p-F2n)dx/x=0.240±0.016 is below quark-parton-model expectation 1/3.Received 23 January 1991DOI:https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevLett.66.2712©1991 American Physical Society

The muon-proton and muon-deuteron inclusive deep inelastic scattering cross sections were measured in the kinematic range 0.002 < × 0.60 0.5 Q2 75 GeV2 at incident muon energies of 90, 120, 200 280 GeV. These results are based on full data set collected by New Muon Collaboration, including taken with a small angle trigger. extracted values structure functions F2p F2d good agreement those from other experiments. cover sufficient y to allow determination ratio longitudinally transversely...

The ABC effect-a puzzling low-mass enhancement in the pipi invariant mass spectrum, first observed by Abashian, Booth, and Crowe-is well known from inclusive measurements of two-pion production nuclear fusion reactions. Here we report on exclusive kinematically complete most basic double-pionic reaction pn-->dpi;{0}pi;{0} at beam energies 1.03 1.35 GeV. measurements, which have been carried out CELSIUS-WASA, reveal effect to be a (pipi)_{I=L=0} channel phenomenon associated with both...

Crenicichla ploegi, new species, is described based on material from the Rio Juruena (Rio Papagaio, do Sangue, Arinos, and itself) tributaries of upper Paraguai (upper Jauru, Cabaçal Sepotuba) in Mato Grosso, Brazil. ploegi twenty-third species C. saxatilis group. It distinguished all other group by presence dark spots vermiculations snout, interorbital area dorsally head adults vs. markings absent or present only juveniles but adults, a deep strongly pigmented lateral band both occupying...

Satanoperca curupira, new species, is described from the rio Madeira basin in State of Rondônia, Brazil. It distinguished all congeners by following combination characters: 3-7 dark-brown oblique stripes on lachrymal (vs. 2 well-defined stripes, or absent) and an irregular pattern cheek opercular series without markings with light-beige rounded spots). According to meristic color characters, species considered a member S. jurupari group, syntopic jurupari, which widespread Amazon basin. The...

Danio htamanthinus, new species, is described from small streams in the vicinity of Htamanthi on middle Chindwin River. It most similar to D. choprae and flagrans Ayeyarwaddy River drainage, sharing same elaborate colour pattern with dark vertical bars a red interstripe along posterior side, but distinguished by absence P+1 stripe presence P represented only spots. The uncorrected p-distance mitochondrial COI gene separates htamanthinus 4.3% 7.5%. largest specimen 22.9 mm standard length...

Devario comprises 38 potentially valid species in southern Asia. Ten of have been reported so far from Myanmar, six which belong the group striped devarios, with predominantly horizontal stripes colour pattern. Among them, records D. aequipinnatus most likely represent misidentifications. Remaining devarios Myanmar are known only brief descriptions and need taxonomic revision. yuensis deruptotalea, previously India, here for first time Myanmar. fangae, new species, is described on basis...
