Heavy neutron-rich nuclei were populated via the fragmentation of a E/A=1 GeV 20882Pb beam. Secondary fragments separated and identified subsequently implanted in passive stopper. Proton radii of ^{12-19}C densities derived from first accurate charge changing cross section measurements at 900A MeV with a carbon target are reported. A thick neutron surface evolves ∼0.5 fm in ^{15}C to ∼1 ^{19}C. The halo radius ^{19}C is found be 6.4±0.7 as large ^{11}Li. Precise measurements of the lifetimes first excited 2+ states in stable even-A Sn isotopes 112–124Sn have been performed using Doppler shift attenuation technique. For 112Sn, 114Sn and 116Sn E2 transition strengths deduced from measured are disagreement with previously reported values indicate a shallow minimum at N=66. Measurements of the beta-decay half-lives neutron-rich nuclei (MgAr) in vicinity N=28 shell closure are reported. Some 22 have been determined, 12 which for first time. The neutron-rich lead isotopes, up to $^{216}\mathrm{Pb}$, have been studied for the first time, exploiting fragmentation of a primary uranium beam at FRS-RISING setup GSI. observed isomeric states exhibit electromagnetic transition strengths which deviate from state-of-the-art shell-model calculations. SOFIA (Studies On Fission with Aladin) is a novel experimental program, dedicated to accurate measurements of fission-fragment isotopic yields.
