This paper introduces a new approach to measure the muon magnetic moment anomaly |$a_{\mu} = (g-2)/2$| and electric dipole (EDM) |$d_{\mu}$| at J-PARC facility. The goal of our experiment is |$a_{\mu}$| using an independent method with factor 10 lower momentum, 20 smaller diameter storage-ring solenoid compared previous ongoing |$g-2$| experiments unprecedented quality storage field. Additional significant differences from present experimental include 1000 transverse emittance beam...

OBJECTIVES Serum levels of des-gamma-carboxy prothrombin (DCP) and alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) are known to be useful tumor markers for the diagnosis hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The aim this study was examine diagnostic efficacy DCP AFP in differentiating HCC from chronic liver diseases. METHODS We examined 1,377 patients 355 with hepatitis or cirrhosis (non-HCC) who visited our institute affiliated hospitals between June 1997 September 2003. RESULTS median values were 60 mAU/mL 34 ng/mL...

Oxidative stress is a strong contributor to the progression from simple fatty liver nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). Molecular hydrogen an effective antioxidant that reduces cytotoxic reactive oxygen species. In this study, we investigated effects of hydrogen-rich water and drug pioglitazone on NASH in mouse models. A methionine-choline–deficient (MCD) diet model was prepared. Mice were divided into three experimental groups fed for 8 weeks as follows: (1) MCD + control (CW group); (2)...

Inconsistent conclusions have been drawn about the clinical significance of micrometastases in lymph nodes (LNs) node-negative colorectal cancer (CRC) patients. We performed a comparative study detection using immunohistochemistry (IHC) by anti-cytokeratin antibody and carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA)-specific reverse-transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) same patients, an attempt to move closer their application.Sixty-four CRC with RNA good quality available from paraffin-embedded...

Robotic laparoscope positioners are now expected as assisting devices for solo surgery among endoscopic surgeons. In such robotic systems, the human-machine (surgeon-robot) interface is of paramount importance because it means by which surgeon communicates with and controls camera assistant. We have designed a novel interface, called "FAce MOUSe", controlling position laparoscope. The proposed human an image-based system tracks surgeon's facial motions robustly in real time does not require...

We present evidence for the excitation of two-photon Doppler-free $1S\ensuremath{-}2S$ transition in muonium. Thermal muonium atoms were produced vacuum by a 27.5-MeV/c pulsed positive-muon beam incident on powdered Si${\mathrm{O}}_{2}$ target. Transitions induced light from frequency-doubled dye laser and detected photoionization $2S$ state. The $1S(F=1)\ensuremath{\rightarrow}2S(F=1)$ frequency is within 300 MHz QED prediction.
