The effects of pore size in additively manufactured biodegradable porous magnesium on the mechanical properties and biodegradation scaffolds as well new bone formation have rarely been reported. In this work, we found that high temperature oxidation improves corrosion resistance scaffold. And characteristics scaffolds, formation, were investigated using with three different sizes, namely, 500, 800, 1400 μm (P500, P800, P1400). We discovered P500 group much better than those other two groups....

Reconstruction of subarticular bone defects is an intractable challenge in orthopedics. The simultaneous repair cancellous defects, fractures, and cartilage damage ideal surgical outcome. 3D printed porous anatomical WE43 (magnesium with 4 wt% yttrium 3 rare earths) scaffolds have many advantages for repairing such including good biocompatibility, appropriate mechanical strength, customizable shape structure, biodegradability. In a previous investigation, we successfully enhanced the...

Retrospective. Symptomatic bone cement displacement (BCD) is a rare complication following percutaneous kyphoplasty (PKP) interventions for osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture (OVCF). This study aimed to investigate the incidence and outcomes of symptomatic BCD comprehensively identify its risk factors. The clinical data patients treated with PKP OVCF between January 2012 December 2020 were extracted. Patients who developed during follow-up divided into asymptomatic groups. did not...

The repair of critical diaphyseal defects lower weight-bearing limbs is an intractable problem in clinical practice. From December 2017, we prospectively applied 3D printed porous Ti6Al4V scaffolds to reconstruct this kind bone defect. All patients experienced a two-stage surgical process, including thorough debridement and scaffold implantation. With average follow-up 23.0 months, ten with 11 parts were enrolled study. case series included three females seven males, their defect reasons...

Case: This study reported the case of a 42-year-old woman with traumatic ipsilateral critical bone defect right femur and tibia after motor accident. Three-dimensional (3D) printed porous titanium scaffolds were innovatively used to reconstruct this challenging situation. The initial stability was safe enough for early exercise partial weight bearing. 26-month follow-up showed osseous integration prosthesis-bone interface short-term satisfactory clinical result. Conclusion: custom-designed...

A retrospective single-center study. We aimed to compare the clinical outcomes of cervical spine fracture accompanied with ankylosing spondylitis (ASCSF) treated by single posterior approach (PA) and combined anterior-posterior (CA) for patients who were followed up >1 year. For ASCSF patients, surgical treatment has been widely accepted as a recommendable therapeutic option. But optimal is still under controversy, few studies have focused on comparison between PA CA.From February 2007 March...

ABSTRACT Objective The clinical management of partial bone defects in lower limbs, particularly those resulting from osteomyelitis, remains a significant challenge. This study aimed to systematically evaluate the effectiveness 3D‐printed porous Ti6Al4V prostheses addressing osteomyelitis‐induced defects. Methods We established comprehensive protocol for utilizing defect repair, encompassing 3D simulation prosthesis implantation and internal fixation, finite element analysis (FEA),...

However, it challenging to characterize behaviors under low-resolution (LR) clinical CT images due a lack microstructural information. The data-driven method proposed in this article accurately characterizes properties from LR images....

Abstract Background Due to various reasons, the diagnosis of cervical spine fracture (CSF) in patients with ankylosing spondylitis (AS) may be missed or delayed clinical practice. Objective To explore prediction ability simple plain X-ray for possibility CSF AS who suffer from low-energy trauma (LET). Methods From January 2010 December 2019, experienced LET were retrospectively reviewed. Their data, including gender, age, body mass index, time interval between and trauma, smoking not, a...
